Prince's Music...20 years from now, 50 years from now, 100 years from now

I have published more on the Org today then I have combined over the last three years. I am sorry. Org Note me and tell me to stop if needs be. I am trying to process and y'all are the people to process this with.

The Beatles will still be the Beatles 20 years from now, 50 years from now. People will still discover their music. It will somehow be fresh and alive. Will Prince's music stand the test of time in the same way. Will musical historians laud him, will his music be played as a testament to the time we live in? Will it still seem timeless as some of his stuff he made 30 years ago seem. I am trying hard to avoid hyperbole and probably fail miserably but is Prince truly our Mozart? Did we live in the time of a genius that even we as fans underestimated? What will his legacy be in time?

All good things they say never last...

Prince will live on. Through us and our Kids and Friends and Families............

There is no doubt of that.

Life is short, don't be a dick.

R.I.P Prince - Thank you for your Music, Your Talent and for helping me find out who I was and am.

It will live 4ever and people will have fun like I am starting to buy up parliament CDs from the 70's. Great music will endure. James Brown stands the test of time. Parliament/funkadelic amaze me. That stuff is 40 years old and sounds like it could be kick anything that comes out today. Prince to me will be no different. I only hope that his post warners material gets re-issued in time. His whole legacy needs to be out for the future. Hopefully it will be.

Prince stood his ground throughout his career - often to his commercial detriment in his own era - in order to create a rich catalogue of music that he knew would stand the test of time. I've always felt like he's been writing for the future and will end up similar to Bach, who was known during his era, but wasn't immortalised across centuries until later. There are so many hidden gems in his catalogue too. I can imagine many of his songs becoming more famous in the future than they are today.

I hope so, because there are so many gems. Lately, i discovered Into The Light and I Will and since his death it took a whole lot different meaning; yesterday i was listening a Prince's playlist, at night it came these two songs, and i couldn't stop my tears from falling; specially with I I Will and the chorus: "Every soul must return, Into The Light".

Yes, it really is amazing to think of Prince's legacy of great music that will span the centuries. The CBC radio program Day 6 reported that there is enough unreleased music in the vaults to issue an album a year for the next 100 years!! So those of us who've been with Prince since the beginning and are in our 50s will never hear all of it. It's daunting to think about. I've also been thinking about genius: I've been blessed to live during the lifetimes of Stephen Hawking (physics genius), Wayne Gretzky (hockey postioning genius) and Prince (musical genius). We are lucky friends! Some musicologist in 3030 will be able to put it all in perspective, think of that! And it will most likely be free to all to have.

Wow eek if that's really true what you said about the Vault then I have the opportunity to live through most of it. It's so sad that a heavy price had to be paid in order for us to get this, I mean, if we do get it.

Prince's situation is now win-win with regards to his legacy.

His released work already made him a legend. That legend will almost certainly grow as The Vault begins a never ending cycle of emptying. And none of it was OK'd by Prince, even just via a legal document, so none of it can be held against him if there's any kind of backlash.

Prince will live for ever. But even new Prince music releases will probably outlive us all.
