This is Prince teaching his band the nut and bolts of Purple Rain. It's beautiful that others were allowed to organically add inflections to it. But without question it's a Prince composition. He is 100 % in charge of this band. Beautiful, beautiful, Prince. I love how he takes that line from Dr. Fink and sings that line which ends up being a wonderful vamp part of the song with ohh's.
