usually after someone passes one or maybe two songs re-enter the charts. But Prince had 5 enter the top 40! and 1999 nearly got there as well.

There will be more next week. Billboard's chart tracking period runs from Friday morning to Thursday night, meaning all 6 of this week's hits charted solely from less than one DAY of sales. They should all move up next week, with "Purple Rain" going top 5 (with a possibility of #1). This is all great, but...well, I know we'd all trade it in a second just to have him back. I'd rather have HITnRUN Phase Two nowhere on the charts than TVBOP at #1. [Edited 4/26/16 19:04pm] |
