I don't see anything wrong with it. Good, balanced column. [Edited 4/25/16 11:32am] No Candy 4 Me

Another "Me! Me! Me! " article from that self-centered witch. She takes herself too seriously. This article is terrible, even for her low standards. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

the part about her getting kicked out of a Prince performance is funny

What does this wench look like???

Chill. she's writing about Prince through her experience. I liked the article and thought it was touching.
Perhaps given the circumstances, we shouldn't judge people for how they vent or express their emoitions over his passing.

She hates the old Prince but the newer one was much better. She should update her wench ball. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Well she starts off very nice :
Still, to me, Prince will always be the greatest music icon Minnesota produced.
I have previously described him as a musical genius. He was exhaustingly creative, between writing, producing, singing and often playing all the instruments on his songs. And what a performer and dancer, with a thoroughly commanding stage presence.

I gotta say, I grew up in Minneapolis. When CJ's column was out, I really enjoyed it. She always had the scoop on Prince, and calling him Symbolina was funny. Prince had some strange behavior, that I woudl hear about from people who had worked with him. She, like she says, just started reporting it. Prince could have had a bit more of a sense of humour around her. Her columns were funny and critical/non-reverential, but I never thought of them as mean or cruel.

I still don't understand who made her the authority on Prince. Just cuz she fucked with him all the time, now she thinks people give 2 shits what she thinks about him? And the lyric is: It's in the dictionary, see "J", Billy Jack Bitch. I wish u heaven

The lyric was intended to have a double meaning. No Candy 4 Me

Actually I didn't expect her to tell that same old story once again. [Edited 4/25/16 13:29pm]

Bitch by name, bitch by nature. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

OK, maybe I was a bit harsh but I stand by what I said. And she keeps rehashing the same old stories, how she followed him all the way to Paisley Park, how he thought she might be an ex, blablabla. It was probably cute 20 years ago but I found this article in bad taste, despite the compliments.

I won't click that link. I refuse to acknowledge CJ. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I mean, she's probably just as sad as the rest of us about him passing. I know I'm pretty fucked in the head over it, so possibly she is as well. So she's just revisiting what transpired between the two. Her story here is simply what she remembers as far has her personal interactions. She's probably quite proud to be the muse for a song like BJB, and that's the vibe I got reading the article. I'd save my vitriol and disgust for where it should go; the rags that are printing stories about alleged drug dealers, having AIDS, implying he was an addicted to heroin, etc., etc. In the face of that shit, I'd say this article is quite endearing.

Never cared for her, but at least she's being truthful. Unlike Wendy Williams who sobbed and blubbered on her show (when it was too late) after Whitney passed.

She could not have written any other article.

Same here..she is worthless and so is everything that comes out of billy jack bitch mouth. Zzzz...

Agreed. She always comes across as just bitter, and pissy. However, in fairness, the article wasn't bad at all. Someone said it was "me me me", but she knew Prince. All of us telling our stories with Prince, whether we knew him in person or not, isn't really about Prince. It's about about we related to Prince's music, or anything else he did. He's just being Prince. It's us that had the priviledge of finding change in his music. C.J. is no different. She just had a bigger voice in a newspaper. Her battle was public with him. She certainly was nasty to him, and disrespectful to a great extent.
But I still think there was some respect for him from her, and vice versa. There was a great line in the HBO series OZ. The narrator said that when you seek revenge on someone, you are paying them a compliment. You're saying that 'you effected my life is such a huge way, I have to return the favor'. That is what CJ & Prince's relationship was, ultimately.
The article was nice, though. It could have been a big "fuck you", but it wasn't. And to our silent glee, she'll always be the "Billy Jack Bitch" heifer. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I'm from west of Mpls and quit reading her column when she started the Symbolina crap. She's a gossip writer and not even a good one - if there is such a thing. She came across as childish. Never understood why the paper kept her around as her columns were boring. Dreadful witch are the words that always come to mind when I hear her name. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

That's in part what I meant. This site would have been on her case if she had paid a glowing tribute that did not address the vitriol between them. This article is basically: "He was an incredible talent but was an extreme ass to me after I admittedly started some name-calling in my job as a sarcastic chronicler, let's let bygones be bygones, I even like the damn song after all."
