Prince's former band members, Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, are speaking out for the first time about his death.

Wendy (guitar) and Lisa (keyboards) -- the most prominent members of The Revolution -- were at LAX Sunday morning, on their way to Minnesota ... and revealed plans for the band to get back together to honor their friend and bandleader.

If, like most people, you watched "Purple Rain" this weekend ... you saw how close Prince was to Wendy and Lisa, and it's clear in this video just how crushed they are by the loss.

Prince split from The Revolution in 1986, but still occasionally performed with Wendy and Lisa. One of the last times was an instant classic gig at the 2006 Brit Awards.

I'm glad to see something about Wendy and Lisa, but the ambush video is super uncomfortable. The headline is misleading, too.

That said, Mark Brown has stated on FB that "you will see us (The Revolution) together again".

I love Wendy and Lisa SO VERY MUCH!

Their music is absolutely exceptional.

I feel so very sorry for Sheila E and now Wendy and Lisa for being approached in this way at the airport.

It's good as fans to be able to see them, but I love them enough to want them to have their own space as well.

Prince becoming homophobic played a part. He also did not want people thinking his sucess had anything to do with others.

I can see them reforming for a 1 of Tribute show and I can see Lenny Kravitz playing the lead role as someone has to sing lead vocals.

They will be joined by The Time and other Prince asociated artists

U R looking @ an image of people distraught, probably been crying for long periods of time, and not caring about being styled as they board the plane to get to Minneapolis

These 2 look pretty good in general.


When they snapped the picture of Sheila going to the plane crying she looked like hell too

I know it's scummy of TMZ to stalk people for click-bait videos.

But I'm really happy to see Wendy & Lisa heading-out to Paisley Park.

I don't know why, but it feels like the cavalry is coming now, to sort-out all the craziness.
