Danmarks Radio celebrates Prince, 7 hours radio, listen here in case you missed it

Prince maraton

^ this is the link to dr.dk/p7mix - the danish radio celebration "Prince maraton" on sunday (yesterday) 10:00am to 17:00pm.

It's now up on PodCast (streaming) for you in case you missed it........

Sad, moving, still respectful....... the journalists/hosts and fans Mathias & Niels did a good job in honoring Prince....

This is mainly for the danish fans here....... sad

"P7 MIX celebrates Prince with reactions on his too sudden death, interviews with (danish) musicians, listeners' experiences and of course the ultimate top 10 of the icon's best songs. Hosts: Mathias Buch Jensen and Niels Fez Pedersen."

You can always download it on the podcast app that should be on your iPod. It's purple and then just search for P7 MIX Marathon: Prince 1958-2016 .

I don't think they delete previous shows because you can still download the show they did about Prince in 2013.

I'm going to put it on right now!

You're welcome!

The radio show FONK! Det er lørdag on P4 with Henrik Milling and Nicolai Molbech did a two hour show saturday about Prince.

It's the one on the 23/4/2016 even though the description of the programme says something else. I haven't heard it yet.

^ thanks Lenis:

saturday, I heard the Fonk! Det er lørdag P4 radio special about Prince,

I was a little disappointed, because....

1. only the "golden era" was mentioned from Soft & Wet up to Alphabet Street, they played Gold and Musicology as well iirc, but mainly it was the 80s in focus.

2. and, 1 og the hosts, Henrik Milling, he is so halfhearted when he is talking about Prince albums, in danish he sounds a lot superficial "overfladisk". I know from earlier that he doesn't like Lovesexy at all, called the album "flop of the year 1988" a few years back he said the album is an "unfocused jam session" wtf, and this saturday he said he doesn't like The Gold Experience either... maybe he's entertaining, and funny, but he doesn't have a "full heart" when it comes to the Prince albums catalogue.. when he is appreciating Prince.. he's mainly talking about the hit singles, that's what he likes I think..... I wonder if he likes Prince album classics like Parade and Sign O The Times..?

3. on the positive vibe, Nicolai Molbech is much much better as a host, I think I can tell he is a true Princefan when he is talking about the music, he is loving and feeling the music in a deeper way, impressive he has been a fan since the "Prince album" in 1979.

am I too big a critic about Henrik Milling.. question

Hehe, no not at all!

I am a little bothered with Henrik Milling myself. He is more of a storyteller - an entertaining one - but when he tells his stories about Prince he doesn't really have all his facts straight.

I can remember right after Prince died there was this "thing" where Henrik Milling, Kristian Leth, Nikolaj Koppel and Evren Tekinoktay sat and talked about Prince and how he influenced them at Vega and he just said a lot of things disguised as facts but not at all true. Like Prince didn't write Purple Rain and his alias on SOTT was called Anna Stesia. So he tries to sound like he knows every little detail but usually he gets it all wrong. That annoys me. I don't expect that a radiohost would know which mix of unreleased albums ended up being SOTT but if you start talking about it I'm going to expect that you know what you are talking about.

It's funny he says that he doesn't like The Gold Experience 'cause he usually choose Gold as his favorite song. Now that I've finished my exams I'm going to give Fonk! a listen.

Kristian Leth is doing his radioshow Album Live on Prince and the Purple Rain album on Bremen Teater in september. I'm really looking forward to that!
