I was hoping it wouldn't take Prince's death to ask this, but will Prince's PR team let people post Prince stuff on Youtube, Daily Motion, etc., like music videos, song covers, song clips, interviews, documentaries, etc?

If you check youtube, links are being posted. Im still looking for long lost videos that I can dload just in case another banned occurs. But keep checking all sites. I think eventually they will make its way for us to see them again.

There seems to be a Prince Vevo channel now...

it's probably just due to the overwhelming amount of people posting videos now. i've seen accounts that have posted about 50% of his official music videos in the last day alone.

websherrif needs a bit of time to flag that stuff and take it down.

thing is, they were still taking stuff down very recently and it's not like prince had to call them each
morning and say 'yes, today you must hunt youtube for old videos as well! go forth, websherrif'

so it's unlikely that all these machinations just stopped this thursday. they might lag behind but i'm
guessing stuff will be deleted in the coming weeks, until in time it becomes clear what prince left
behind regarding a last will and testament and someone or several people get appointed the care
of his estate.

things might change in the future but i wouldn't just assume that it's all ok now, to just post all of
the stuff you have everywhere. everything is probably exactly as it was before.

i think that's a fake. i mean, it was started the 21st for crying out loud.

plus it has some -great, though very bad quality- videocassette rips of

Are we allowed to post links to Youtube channels that have put up lots of Prince videos? If so, there are quite a few people who might want to download them from Youtube. You only need to google 'download from Youtube' and download one of the many apps available. Usually, you copy and paste the youtube link into the app and click download.

Has to be a fake because:

1/ started on 21 april

2/ the official Vevo exists and is the one that featured Breaffast and Fixurlifeup and now only has the Breakfast behind the scenes doc

3/ this Vevo has only WB tracks but WB isn't associated with Vevo

As for the future status of Prince material posted online, alot will come down to who ultimately gets control of his estate in light of his passing.

The general school of thought seems to be that this will be passed on to his most immediate family member who appears to be his sister, Tyka. That said, Prince may indeed have a will that he has prepared and this might specify his estate go elsewhere.

Whatever the case, the decision on where, when and how Prince material is available to his fans will come down to the decision of the person who gains control of his estate. They may choose to allow his material to thrive online so that everybody to can share in the Prince legacy.

Thanks for all the info on the Vevo channel... I guess I hadn't seen fake channels before that went to the trouble of putting fake Vevo watermarks on the uploads. lol

There was a post in the Org Site forms where a MOD said to NOT post links to videos.

i would say you should not post any links until the rule is officaly changed.

They are still taking P videos down on Youtube. I posted '86 birthday concert vid from Detroit and it was removed by Universal Music Group request.
