Prince Tribute concert?

I hope that there will be a tribute concert 4 Prince, like there was 4 David Bowie. God knows he deserves one. Your thoughts on who should perform?..................

None. Seeing other musicians perform his music would only make me miss him.more. I couldn't even watch more than a minute of that Bruce Springsteen clip, no matter how well meant it was. The Revolution without Prince would be like The Doors without Jim Morrison or The Wailers without Bob Marley or the JBs without James Brown. In 2008 Bootsy Collins got the original JBs back together with a new singer pretending to be James Brown. The band was good, but it just didn't work. Something was missing.

The Revolution, The NPG and 3rdeyegirl could perform an Instrumental tribute. No one can replace him so why try

The revolution.

The last BET tribute was HORRIBLE.

Miguel is the only singer fit to cover any Prince song that requires singing in a higher register.

NO YOUNG fake fans like Buno Mars please.

I was thinking about that earlier, but it's still hard to digest that thought. If it happened, it would be cool to see artists like D'angelo and Quest, Meshell, Erykah Badu, Beck, Outkast, Rapheal Saddiq...that would be pretty interesting.

Well thankfully, Sheila E. seems to be the one that will be putting it together, so I'm no longer worried.

Since the drummer has organized all-star concerts for charity, she has been charged with organizing the public musical celebration for Prince.

Although the planning is in the preliminary stages, she’s already looking at the place in Minneapolis with the most purple seats — U.S. Bank Stadium.

It doesn’t open until July 23.

“I know that,” she said, smiling just a little bit.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I don't want a tribute concert with a load of wannabee pop stars singing his songs.

.

I would rather see a concert featuring all of the associated artists singing the songs they created with Prince.

.

There was something similar a few years ago with Revolution and Family members getting together.

.

It certainly would be nice to see The Time and Wendy & Lisa up on stage.

.

Whatever it is, I hope it's not rushed, I hope there's some quality to it & I hope more basses are thumped than Bibles.

Miguel? Shit, please.

The only person really able to do it justice vocally would be D'Angelo. That's if he would be able emotionally.

I can't even comprehend that this is still happening neutral

The Revolution, D'Angelo, The Roots, Lianne La Havas, Beck, Lenny Kravitz, Erykah Badu, St Vincent, Stevie Wonder, George Clinton, Shelia E.... and I'm sure there's plenty more who could do a fitting tribute.

Who would you want singing the final encore... Purple Rain? I cant think of anyone who would do it justice.

And the Original 7 should be there as The Time.

I agree I am not sure I could take it. No one could do justice anyway. I couldn't watch the Springsteen clip either. I have spent time listening to his music on the radio and TV more relishing the fact that there was so much of it on more than anything and behaving like it was just another day... I am not sure I would go but what kind of tribute would be fitting then?

I am not a big fan of tribute things because it makes me miss then singer too much, take for example the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert - it just made me more depressed even though I admit George Michael did a great job - but overall it is depressing and just reminds me of the loss. And really who can sing like Prince? Just like nobody can sing like Freddie.

[Edited 4/25/16 6:05am]

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

If it's anyone in their 20's or 30's or 40's it has to be people prince respected and admired.

I actually think this can be pulled off very well.

For his bet tribute he hand picked esperanza janelle alicia. He also loves lianna la havas and laura mvula . Kanye, miguel , kendrick lamar...

I think they would be stupid not to do something. But lets not forget, others have passed away too and it wouldnt be fair for Prince to dominate proceedings. Think of the Bowie fans that might want their hero remembered too.

But this can't turn into performances bout the artist. This is about prince.

So beyonce , prince obv liked but don't make it about yourself bey.

This CAN'T be a lady gaga style tribute to bowie. People can't just getinto the service because they famous or popular. So no bieber in the crowd please or anyone else who just wants to be there to be seen.

I hope this is dont in the tasteful way prince would want and be about REAL MUSIC AND REAL MUSICIANS.

I wouldnt mind seeing Alicia Keyes being involved, girl can play great Piano and has great vocals too, plus she has worked with Prince before.

The only one I have major objections with is Lady Gaga.................that Bowie tribute for the Grammys was just embarressing and painful to watch..........cirque du gaga.
