in now is somewhat appatrent in hindsight that something was amiss. you can see the strain and stress on his face and when i compare toi people ive lost who had an illness the similarities are striking

i thought this too, i even mentioned to my wife about 2/3 weeks ago how he looked a bit pale and gaunt in his new press shots.. this was before the whole "flu" thing.

denial is a bitch...much props to him for walking through the pain to do the two shows in atl...further, we bitched about promotions,, videos etc,,it may have been that he just couldnt do it...alll so fucking sad

Yeah. I remember commenting here that I thought he was getting too thin.

I suspect there was something going on.

Thing is, he didn't share that with the world. So, in that respect, I just feel so bad about that docter D. spilling the beans.

From the bottom of my heart if I had known he was sick I wouldve volunteered to take care of him...he meant that much to me. Hell at least somebody wouldve been there with him

so fucking heartbreaking,,,i thought he'd outlive me which i was ok with that way o got hear all the music...crazy ...Stories are coming out that he was unresponsive ont he plane it dived 45,000 feet in 15 miniutes to divert..being in avaiton, thats very extreme

Trust me I know...but I just feel like they shouldnt do him like that. I dont care what he was taking he was Prince. I mean hell the man jumped off speakers for his craft and we loved him for that so I have no doubt he was taking something...Im just not gone let them drag him through the mud like that. Not on Nursey's watch.

Bernie did look sick too Regarding Prince we just didnt see it or those of us who saw it didnt say it cuz we loved him and respected his feelings.

Was it the flu or pneumonia?Let me say you dont mess with pneumonia.Could of been walking pneumonia.chills,fever,pain in the chest,inner ear infection.And flying with it is unheard of and i bet he couldn't breath..Now you do start feeling better after the first group of pills.If he was that bad that the plane diverted they thought they were going to lose him.He prob got a steriod shot in the booty.I bet he had an IV drip.All in the emergency room.FAA Prob has a report because of the diversion.I think its on the up and up about everything now.Plus the trips to walgreens tea,vaporizer,puffs,maybe a breathing machine.Once he got back to his hometown he also prob checked in with his reg dr.Also his immune system was prob low.Which he prob had dehydration.And possibly strep throat.His poor ears were prob on fire with conjestion.Going up in the plane and going down was prob just terrible.Many times people try to get better faster so they dont take their meds properly.INFLUENZA/ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE IS MY GUESS.Pain meds,and please dont take this wrong because im no dr im just guessing like everyone else.But,a major star like him possibly had anxiety meds and depression meds or even bi polar meds.dont kill me its jmho

I thought his glam squad was slipping. Can you imagine the stories they have. Please I also noticed that his big fro never quite right.

As for the elevator, I like to think that whtever happened, it was so quick, that he felt no pain. I was once told that if you fall over where you land on your stomach, you have a good chance of surviving but if you just drop. i don't know if that is true but someone told me this when I passed out. Landed on my face. Has anyone else heard this?

yeah this upset me a lot too, when i told my wife this is what happened i burst into tears again.. This is no way for a man of his talent to go.. not at all.

I hate to think of how he passed away, but you just can't help it, it does come into your mind whether you want it to or not. My eyes fill with tears every time.

He looked thin...but fwiw, he looked great for 57 but he also looked like a 57 y/o guy who for most of his life barely slept - and the phsyical nature of making music is nto common knowledge really - he performed at superhuman levels of excellence and mastery for 40 years. Think about it, Prince did the incredible a a matter of course. It was NORMAL to him. Thats just what he did. Play all day play all night barely sleep, eat a little, add travel - different time zones - different weather - staying in hotels and flying so much sets up conditions for a break down of immunity.

....at some point the body starts to complain - someone like Prince can and will WILL his body to continue - by the time someone like Prince actually acknowledges pain - hes in way more pain that you realize. Also sleep is when your body repairs itself. Prince did very very very little sleeping. Over 40 its magnified 10-fold.

I believe the dehydration of the flu - I have experience with it, my room mate had a flu for 2 weeks - one day we were eating breakfast and we thought he was fine, and boom he slumped over and slid onto the floor. After I got him to the hospital - severe dehydration. If that happened during Princes flight of course they couldnt take the additional 48 minutes ot get to Minnie. I dont believe he OD'd. The dehydration story is plausible and dehydration that severe - especially after not one but two shows - makes sense if he was ill during the week.

I do believe he didnt understand nor realize how ill he could become - as in the case of my room mate the doctor told us to keep him home for 2 weeks so he wouldnt develp walking pnuemoia - that can kill you, and there are no real stats as to who lives and who dies with the flu or pnuemonia - it depends on your existing condition.

He probably was taking pain killers - for hips knees ankle back shoulder pain - HOURS UPON HOURS UPON HOURS for YEARS of playing is physically demanding. I'm sure he used some meds but if you also combine them with maybe tamiflu or other cold medicine -no sleep- and not seeing a doctor after that hosiptal stop - I think its entirely possible to set up conditions for the body to simply give out. Either a heart attack or some such catastrophic event that was accidnetal but aided along by a stacking set up of circumstances that at 37 is one thing and at 57 can be fatal.

Prince ground his machine to a halt - at least thats what it appears like to me. I'm 52 myself and recnetly broke my foot while on a job in NYC - guess what... I kept shooting after I broke it, because I thought it wasnt broken. It took 3 people to convince me to go get an xray and I KNOW BETTER but instinct and the shock and the professionalism takes over and you go 'Im fine'. And you believe youre fine. I wnetf or the xray to prove my freinds wrong. and guess what the Dr was like 'how the hell did you walk in here?' I can TOTALLY imagine that Prince ENTIRELY thought he was fine. I also believe no one could tell im differently either.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong but the OD thing is so anathema to everything Prince stood for that until actually proven I refuse to believe it. His body became overwhelmed and stopped - that's what Im desperate to belive really so maybe this post will be really pathetic later after we find out what happened but - its so tough to process - and while he may have been physically alone - he was entirely surround by everything he loved...he spent every waking minute making music - while in the elevator God offered him the ladder and he said 'I'm out'...

In retrospect I now see the same thing. I saw him in CT at the three shows he did at the end of 2013 and not again until the Paisley Park show this past January. Big difference. I was in the front row for one of the CT shows and for the Paisley Park show. I attributed the difference to being a couple years older and the aging process finally catching up with him, but now it seems there was something going on. Maybe just the pain--who knows, but something was amiss.
