Prince hologram being discussed

Hologram USA CEO:

“We are mourning the loss of Prince along with his millions of fans,” he said. “If at some point in the future his estate and the fans feel a hologram performance would be a fitting tribute, we’d be honored to celebrate the Sexy Motherf***er in every way.”

Should it be done, or is it too creepy? If so, then where and when and what song?

Tupac's hologram was 16 years later at Coachella.

MJ was 5 years after his death, at the Billboard music awards.

I have mixed feelings about it.

Nah, please don´t. "Real music 4 real music lovers" by real musicians. Something like this doesn´t sound like him at all. Wouldn´t fit imo.

No thank you - it dont feel right to me and would only make me feel more empty as it is not the real thing. I would hate this as much as I hate tribute shows - a reason I never saw Queen without Freddie - it is a not the same.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I dont think he would want that... Maybe a bronze statue at First Avenue or in Chanhassen

As a Visual effects artist and animator and Prince lover, I don't wanna see a hologram either. BUT... What I rather see is a new Virtual Reality music video or film on Prince with new music. That would be more fitting for me as a tribute. And use of new technology and art which Prince loved.

It's completely hollow and pointless to me. I only want to see images of him being in the moment he was actually in. Not someone elses interpetation of him; A caricature. No.

For me, it matters not. I've seen Prince live and his love is in my heart.

For those who have not been able to experience His Royal Badness, I couldn't care less. Hologram it up.

First of all, holograms don't even exist yet....not three dimensional ones. The technology is not even close to making that a reality. But the crappy fake effect that this company produces is a joke and of course we don't want one of Prince on TV.

No. Tupac's hologram was kinda cool but MJ's hologram was awful, it didn't even look like him imo. And let's not forget that holographic mask they used on Lady Gaga's face during David Bowie's tribute that didn't even match her facial features.

A hologram could never do justice to Prince, there's nothing that can top his live performing skills... Also, the image I'm picturing in my head of a hologram doing a guitar solo is all kinds of wrong. If they want to pay tribute, the could release a 3D movie or live show, a hologram? nope.
