How did Van challenge the system then? He seems to be another brain washed into belieivng that Obama is real. Obama was placed there to pacify black people. He was funded by Goldman Sachs into power.
Tell me more about Van. I would actually LOVE to be wrong.

Some people hide their emotions. I cannot talk about Prince with others yet. Even though I am wearing my sadness and people keep asking me whats wrong, I can't talk about it. Because I know if I open that floodgate, I won't be able to stop. That may be the case for them.

When was that? And what did they discuss? I don´t like Maher but sometimes the discussions are interesting.

Well.. I've been seething about this since last week, and didn't post it because I know everyone's heart is broken right now, including mine, but....
Did anyone watch Van Jones' interview (MSNBC,iirc) where he mentioned how he 'was one of three people in the room when Prince got his masters back that day'? He spoke about how this 'sista' (Prince's lawyer) 'with no entertainment industry experience, went up against these corporate executives and beat them'. MAN THAT PISSES ME OFF! What an ignorant way to handle one's business. Because we all know Prince's victory seems symbolic at best and what happened within weeks of that deal. It was so bad that Prince was giving interviews saying that record execs were not even taking his phone calls. Eventually he was down to playing hardball with the PR remaster, and that tactic really seemed to fail.
Also, everytime I hear how Prince supposedly cut this guy, or his orginazation or whoever million dollar checks for 'solar panels for the hood' and assorted bullcrap when he really wasn't bringing in the bacon like the old days, I just.... I can't stand Van Jones. I view him as a leech.

You must be really young or you just haven't lived much. Don't judge people based upon your miles away perception of them. Either learn about what he does, what he's done and what he lives for before placing judgment or keep your mouth shut about things you don't know until you actually know them. I don't believe there are a million dollars worth of solar panels on roofs that Prince paid for. I think Prince may have been conned. 'Solar panels for the hood' sounds like a silly idea, that only Prince would fall for. It doesn't make economic sense. The panels would be worth more than the house it's attached to. I bet Chris Rock isn't putting a million bucks into silly sht like that. No one with a million dollars can afford to just throw it away like that.

I think you're reaching and just looking for an unfair reason to slam Van Jones. It is pretty clear Prince gave to many charities and had interest in involving himself in one of them, being the 'Yes We Code' project. http://minnesota.cbslocal...facebook [Edited 4/27/16 10:16am]

Long before this tragedy, I have been a big fan of Van Jones for his views and commentary on CNN with Anderson Cooper and others.
I never knew until 421 that he was more connected to P than I was! Obviously we know now that he waas ligitimatly connected while I have been paying for tickets et al for 35 years to get within 5 feet.
Much respect 4U Van... I hope to meet you one day and share a story or two...
Peace, Gerald | |

Exactly. Van and Prince have been friends for a while, and I'm glad some of the people that worked with Prince are sharing their knowledge of the societal/political /community interests and charity side of Prince.

How did Prince and Van Jones first meet? And how did they become friends?

I appreciate Van's stories. You can tell they had a genuine friendship. To her credit, I did see a couple interviews where Sheila was tearing up. I think it's hurting her too, as much as some people might view her as an opportunist right now. Back to Van, I'm thankful that he's providing us with so much context about Prince the humanitarian. I've been watching a lot of old Prince interviews, and you can tell he's all about empowering the youth and the disenfranchised. The world really lost a great soul.

I know. It's good to hear from people who actually knew Prince on a more personal level and are willing to share their experiences. It's a lot more insightful than peeps here who don't know squat but talk as if they do.

Another good one. (Apologies if this has been posted.)
All I know is, I've already read at least a dozen articles about Prince's philanthropy. He was just the best.
