Have you ever noticed........ Have you ever noticed in UTCM in a scene with Jerome and P there is a Sheila E Sister of Fate pic in the background in their bedroom and in Krush Groove when Sheila E is rapping for RUN DMC in an apartment scene there is that wonderful 1999 era poster of P behind her...other movie and tv shows I can think of are the Breakfast Club she is checking out the inner sleeve pic of the band for the 1999 album and on the TV show Different Strokes there used to be a P poster(Purple Rain concert era) above Arnolds bed... Besides Ally Sheedy looking at the 1999 sleeve in The Breakfast Club, in the 1987 Ally Sheedy movie Maid to Order she wears a (IIRC) Purple Rain t-shirt for awhile. It's a Prince t-shirt for sure, I remember that much, I just can't recall exactly which one.

In Only Fools And Horses, Rodney is on holiday and is mistaken for a teenager. Delboy comes out of Rodneys single room and says to Rodders, "Don't worry there's a poster of Prince on the wall!"
There's a bit of English culture for you.

Pretty Woman reference:
Julia Roberts (as she listens to "Kiss" on headphones whilst enjoying a bubble bath): "Don't you just love Prince?" Richard Gere (sarcastically): "More than life itself." Peace, David

In the movie Better Off Dead there's a poster of Jesse Johnson. And in "A Different World" one of the guys had a poster of the Jill Jones album cover. And in DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince video for "Parent's Just Don't Understand" there's a calendar of Madhouse. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Your right about the Fresh Prince video...omg I forgot all about seeing that in the vid back in the day...so does this mean that there was actually a Madhouse calender in existence or was this just a Hollywood prop???I wonder.. -------------------------------------------------

In the lousy 1986 movie Soul Man, C. Thomas Howell's character impersonates a black person so as to obtain a scholarship to college.
In one scene of the film, a girl he is dating (a white girl) takes him home for dinner and to meet her father. While they are all at the dinner table, the (rather racist and suspicious) father of the girl looks over at CTH and suddenly imagines him dressed up like Prince - purple coat, ruffled shirt, PR style hair, etc. - and writhing suggestively all over the top of the dinner table to some wild & crazy sounding guitar. I got dragged to see this hideous movie in the theater back in 1986 just for this particular scene, as the person who dragged me was a total Prince fanatic and had seen that scene in a commercial and, since it had even remotely to do with Prince, he was therefore compelled to see the movie. I personally thought the movie was . You're welcome for my editorial review. Thank you.

Ally Sheedy used to remind me of Wendy...kinda...not anymore though Maid to Order was on cable last night and I watched a bit of it. I can see where you see the Ally Sheedy/Wendy resemblence back then. I think it was hair and mouth, sorta.

I have no clue! I haven't seen or spoken to that person for a very long time. It'd be interesting to know if they're still as big a fan as they once were, as they had been one of the most devoted, rabid Prince fans I've ever met. ...
