Was the Piano and Microphone Tour a parting gift?

This was either a terrible accident or something that could have been prevented or it was a risk of happening and prince knew it.

If he knew for a while , I don't obviously know and i stress that is not really why i'm writing this. It is more to point out and celebrate this tour.Looking at it, you can interpret it either way.As a new challenege and he was enjoying it or he knew this would be his last.

But if you look at the whole concept of this show, the intimacy , the the background image of his whole career, the dramatic music before he comes on stage , the revelations. He literally had no one else on stage with him. No band , it was prince sourrounded by those he knew loved him. Because of that, he shared and did something truely remarkable in each show.

Even if he never knew he wasn't well or if he felt fine, this whole idea and delivery was a whole nother level and was very special. It is and was and will always be one of the most beautiful things he has ever created.

I made a very similar observation over on the other thread. I used the term "Prince and his fans" instead of "Prince and the Band". I too think he knew something was up or possibly the reality of his painful hips/knees, or whatever finally sinking in and mayhe he not being able to perform in the same way for very much longer. Only an observation, but too many things, the memoirs, the "wait a few days to pray for me" the intimate "final" tour. I don't think he knew he was going out this fast (the new piano and guitar), but it seems he knew it might not be too long. Add to it the mistique of the elevator, snow in April and dying in April, the rainbow over Paisley Park after thunderstorms and it all adds to the mistique of Prince in life and in death. He went out the way he lived.

For me absolutely nod

When he first did the Piano and Microphone show at Paisley and I read the reviews and the amazing setlists, I posted in that concert thread that I would consider flying from Australia to see that. I dreamt about him playing at the Opera House, but hey never gonna happen, right. The next week I get an email with the subject "!!" and a link to the announcement of the shows - literally shrieked "OHMYGOD" at work. Two weeks later I'm sitting in the Opera House - dream come true woot!
It was amazing how everything aligned for me. It was awesome to just get purely him in a pretty intimate setting and his voice was still amazing.
I will say one thing about the first Opera House show - he missed lyrics on about half a dozen songs - enough to make me think 'what's up?' because that was out of character. Was he - dare I say it - medicated? It crossed my mind but the second show he sounded strong so my (brief) concerns were brushed aside.
I had a feeling it probably was going to be the last time I'd see him live. Hearing him sound so good and still so vital, this has completely floored me. I'm starting to listen to the music slowly now and it is helping me. We will always have it dove

I have no idea but I think the 3eg hitnrun shows, Montreaux and the piano was his way of leaving us saying I kill guitar, I'll do piano solo and kill it, beat that I am Prince the greatest ever. He worked so hard since 2013. I don't need to know what happened, but I had a sense the piano was the one not to miss. I said to my cousin in Melbourne this is a once off, he won't do this again. Sadly I thought it was for different reasons. Scratch that itch and move on I Thought. I am so happy for those of you you saw it. I was so sure that he was going to hit Paris in May June like n 2014. I was getting worried when he got sick. Hoping he would rest up. I think he knew and wanted to do a last show which is why he went back to Atlanta. Prince went out with a bang.... Prince is the best....we love u.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I just get the feeling that Prince knew something. Not at the beginning of the tour because he had all those future EU dates planned. But in the last few weeks...

.

The camp said "Influenza" but of course they would not say if it was something else. He made up the Atlanta date so soon! Okay... But what doesn't make sense, is after having to make an emergency landing (which I think now was more serious than he made it out to be) , the very next day he calls a party at PP, appears, won't touch the guitar, plays 30 mins of the Atlanta show and announced he would release the whole concert.

.

If he was on pain medication (which he couldn't have liked doing being the health freak that he was), he must have known it wasn't healthy long term. What medication did they give him in hospital and was it a good idea to get on the plane so soon? He used the plane like a car, but he's 57 not 35. Why did he get on his bike, go to the Jazz club after he had just had to make an emergency landing? Too too active and Prince was not unwise. Stubborn maybe but always wise. It's as if.... I don't know.

.

If we are wrong and it was just a freak sudden cardiac arrest out of nowhere then I am furious with life! I am only happy he was at home, in his beloved Paisley Park. I didn't realise he actually stayed there.

.

A short while ago he tweeted the link to Secret Machines track "Nowhere Again" which I thought an uncharacteristic track but a very nice one. Read the lyrics.... "our lives erased" it made me think of Brussels, but now it just makes me suspicious of everything.

.

About the rainbows, I know it's beautiful. When my mom died, there were three rainbows that day. It was so touching. From nature, back to nature.
