Question for players

Im a guitar player and i also play a little piano too.. after Prince died.. I just find it hard to pick up my guitar.. any other guitar player on the forum is having that same problem.. I always looked to playing music as a form of therapy but now.. i just dont have it in me to practice or play as much since we lost him

I picked up my guitar last night. I haven't really been playing for some years now, even though I've always been told I was very good. Here and theres. But now it feels good. I want to learn thst solo from WMGGW note for note now. God he just fuckin annihilated that solo! eek

I COMPLETELY understand this. I could barely make it through the piano tribute video I made the day of his passing. I posted this on the forums in org artist community, I wanted to do more videos, but I cannot play his songs or listen to his songs at the moment, it is just too difficult.

Well, I'm a bass player who learned a lot about playing funk bass from Prince and studying/absorbing his music over the last 30 or so years.

I hadn't been active in my home studio or playing bass much at all since around 2011. But now I feel like his death has inspired me Even more to plug in and funk out. He's the reason I taught myself to play bass and record music in the first place. So I think 2 honor how much he means to me it's important that I get back to playing and recording music.

This weekend will yield many "blisters on my brothers & sisters" when I get my thumb to slappin' and poppin'.

I'm inspired to pick up and play every instrument that I know how to play. The kazoo included. lol

I totally understand how the other org musicians feel.....I hate to admit it, but for me it's the opposite. When I was watching the CNN news reports after it was announced I felt I had to do something. Kept the TV on (with low volume) and just started jamming, playing the instruments and recording. Can't say that it was one of my best, but I wanted to use that angry and confused energy....Like the other musician orgers, he was a huge influence on my musicmanship...still jamming my heart out for him... I'm sure after some time we'll be back to some kind of normal with his music and ours.
