We all know that legendary performance of Purple Rain at the 1985 American Music Awards. AFAIK, the only circulating version of that performance up until now is that atrocious grainy yellowish faded copy. Today someone might have unearthed the best copy so far of this legendary performance. But before I/we get too excited, here's a screen comparison for review. Old version on the left, new version on the right.

Now can anybody tell me whether this is really a new, better copy or everyone's already got it and I'm just late to the party?

I don't think it's the same. The one on YT looks messed up with a 360p resolution and obviously low bitrate. I'm guessing the one on YT is taken from here (appeared in December last year) http://www.downvids.net/p...78924.html

In that case, nothing like the most recent version I saw.
