the last song from the last album: clues to his death?

The last thing he says on record was "that's it!" From HITNRUN PHASE 2's "Big City." It's said in a way that makes you think he knew something we didn't. Even weirder: it's followed by nearly a minute of silence before the track ends. (I thought this was weird when I got the CD - was expecting a hidden track).

Did he know this was the last album / song? I might be reading too much into it.

I haven't posted in 11 years, but I'd say don't read too much into it.

I just checked and you are right - it sounds odd, but I am not sure he was saying anything - well I dont think so...........

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I don't think so. The silence to me was just a way of leaving a pause before whatever else the listener would have put on a playlist would start, as if to leave the listener some time to meditate on the album before jumping to something else.

Technically the last new track ever released by Prince was Ruff Enuff and the last recording was Black Sweat (Live) on Monday.

I personally think he knew he was gonna to pass, I think he had a terminal illness. You can tell because he never write a memoir and work even more hectic then usual and record 4 albums worth. I think he may of thought he had longer to live, but unfortunately his health got worse quicker.

I told a friend of mine that I thought Prince was going to die. This was over a month ago. Something seemed "just not right".

I was praying for him.

I don't think this song holds much of a clue so to speak....

However, I *do* think the the spoken parts of the AOA album, and even the track Way Back Home, deserve a second listen in light of what's happened. I'd said at the time of release that it reminded me of Vanilla Sky...

My mother, an even bigger P fan than I am - and she's 65 - said the same thing when I tried to console her today. She said she "just had a feeling something bad was gonna happen." sad

So many reasons why
There's so many reasons why
I don't belong here
But now that I am I
Without fear I am
Gonna conquer with no fear
Until I find my way back home
Until I find my way back home
Find my way back home
