It is beautiful the love showed to Prince around the world We here have always loved Prince, even if we ourselves sometimes found some of his actions baffling. But it brought tears to my eyes seeing so much love around the world. I so hope Prince knew how much he meant to so many people. | |

Yes! Here in San Diego they have the U.S. Grant hotel, the house of blues and the hard rock cafe all drenched in purple! Even the local newscasters wore purple today! I'm so floored by the love my city is showing my idol! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in! | |

Smokey Robinson was on CNN and mention he was flying home from Cuba yesterday and didn't know about his passing, and as the plane landed he saw the LA airport piers, and the air traffic control towers lit up purple. Then driving into La he saw the city also lit up purple.
Beautiful. And this was all on the SAME day he died. The outpouring of love was instantaneous around the world. [Edited 4/22/16 21:37pm] | |

I agree. It's a joy and a relief that the appreciation is being delivered and felt everywhere. There were times in Prince's career where I thought he would be forever ridiculed, or even worse, ignored. The spotlight on his career and the accolades from the media just confirm what I've always known: Prince was one of a kind. | |

It is a beautiful thing. I truly hope that he knew just how much he was admired and treasured as our last gem. I think towards the end of his life especially the last 5 or 6 years he started to open up more and try to reciprocate the love we gave him. | |
