Oh I'm so sad - can't stop crying

I just want to know about what happens to him

O sweetie, we don't know.

Big hug for you too. I wished we could be together with the org family and console each other in real life.

Many years ago I had this dream...better said nightmare maybe...where Prince died and I felt like attending his funaral, all of us fans dressed in purple, escorting P in a white limo on the minneapolis roads. I'm sure he will have a grand farewell, whatever way. I wish him heaven and will be there in mind.

as much as we all love him.. dont you think his funeral should be private and he can simply have a public memorial for the fans? I'd imagine he'd want people to respect the privacy of his family and friends.

I was hoping this is all a bad dream
I hope he does get a grand farewell - fit for royalty
I think the funeral should be private
I don't know if they cremate him or bury him on the grounds of Paisley park or with his parents

I read that his body is with his family now

Big hugs and big loves to everyone. Whatever happens there will be chance to send him off - where he is physically doesn't matter, what is him has moved on already... and wherever or whatever you believe, just the coming together of people when we say goodbye will send positivity and love out across the whole world. Take care everyone.

That's what bugs me too; even if I am a spiritual person, I truly care about what will happen to his body, who will be there at the funeral, etc

I agree that the family should decide. If they want to open it up to the fans, that is cool too.

I'm a big MJ fan. I would not wanna see Prince get the same treatment as MJ here. I hope it's done with alot more class for Prince!

I have the feeling that Prince would have wanted to avoid an MJ circus at any cost and specified it in his will. So, unless the family decides to hold a public memorial apart from funeral ceremonies, I think it will all be private. And if there is some kind of MJ type memorial, I won't be watching. Just my opinion; others may feel differently.

I feel the same way. I dont want to see a parade of celebrities get onstage and eulogize Prince as if they were inseparable when we all know it is a lie. I listened to Gordy on CNN talk like he knew Prince since birth and it irritated me to no end. I dont want to hear anyone trying to cover Purple Rain live. I dont want to see what would surely be a disproportionate number of Caucasians talk as if they even knew him before the first movie and he isnt black.

I ahve on doubt Prince would want it to be private with a few of the people closet to him if he would want a ceremony at all. If it becomes a disgusting Hollywood spectacle like Whitney Houston or Michael Jackson, I will be boycotting it. I dont even want to see photos - and we know Prince wouldnt want that. Prince is too great for that.

I might be in the minority here, but I truly feel that all funeral and or memorial services for him should be strictly private. Why? Simple. The man himself was fiercely private. Why should that change now that his body and soul is not here? As a die hard fan, I wouldn't even want to see him in a casket...the thought alone is heart wrenching. I'd rather remember him as he was. His spirit lives on in all of us b/c we love him and are all here mourning him! I truly believe he would want us to celebrate him as people have been doing with the all night parties and block parties. Who knows, he may have something in store for all of us fans that has yet to be revealed. He loved us just as much as we loved him.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Exactly. Just would like to point out that it's almost a given that the BET awards this summer will more than likely dedicate the whole ceremony to Prince. I'm sorry but the thought of overrated stars butchering his songs make me want to vomit.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I agree, I believe Prince would want it to be private. I'm sure on award shows throughout this yr there will be many tributes as well as future albums I believe many artist will probably pay homage to Prince. But this funeral lets keep it like he probably would have wanted.

The tributes I saw for David Bowie certainly didn't do justice to his musical legacy... confused

Can anyone tell me WHO is left of his family? I know of his sister Tyka, but am really in the dark about any other relatives still left. I saw Sheila E. on the morning show and it sounds like she is involved in the planning -- which I think is great! I sure hope P has it in writing somewhere that she can be involved in his estate, future releases, and planning of the funeral or memorial. I feel her sorrow is really great right now, but as a fan, it would be nice if she had a large hand in his musical legacy. sad

As you can read in the posts above. That is private.

Prince always kept his family private. So why break that rule now?

I agree with you.

Prince is privacy. And that should be respected.

I feel a bond with the other purple peeps here. I would want to be together with them, but not in a circus with media circling around. It's not about that.

It's about sharing our genuine grief and pain. Not about a spectacle.

I would like to wrap my arms around you all with a big hug. Prince will be missed by so many, he impacted all of our lives in so many ways. The world is fortunate to have had him and I will forever be his friend. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson.
