No statement from Warner Bros? Other than posting the quote from Prince's publicist On their website I am not aware of Warner Brothers making a statement or tribute to Prince!
I think if that is true then it is really low of them. Right now the single and album charts across the world are alight with Prince material. For the first time in years WB Records will be making a decent amount of money off that back catalog. They had their difference God only knows, but I really would have expected something from them! Maybe they are too busy trying to see who owns the rights to all that unreleased vault music! Ha I guess I just moved into the ANGER stage of grief!!! Warner Bros. had a complicated relationship with Prince. They're waiting for a proper marketing strategy to make a statement. I expect a major announcement about the Vault by mid-May. | |

No one is obligated to comment on anything. Susannah hasn't spoken up yet. Does that make her uncaring? Of course not. I'm personally waiting on her comments more than most anyone else I've already read.
The people at WB in 1984 are not there in 2016. It's a whole new slew of folks and faces. Hell, it's a whole different industry at this point.
No one's counting money, nor are the uncaring, or is it beneath them. Not everyone is buying purple roses and balloons before the body is cold. I have no doubt that the people at Warner Bros are feeling the sting of Prince's passing. The industry is a MFer, but the people are as warm-blooded and human as you or me. I know people want to lash out and blame someone, but it's unreasonable, and doesn't bring him back. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I think it may take more than that for them to come-up to an agreement with whomever will be in charge of Prince's estate. A lot of money will be involved. I just hope business will not take over legacy with remixes of Moonbeam Levels by young RéB producers. It doesn't matter if it is different people. This is exactly the time for a huge corporation to show they are human. It doesn't and shouldn't be anything glib or convoluted. But that can sooo be taken the wrong way. They won is what that sentence heavily infers. They had a well documented dispute. ANYthing they 'say' is them getting the last word. That's usually seen as tacky... WBR has an assload of artists on its roster. The ONLY thing the site takes u to is a fairly recent pic of Prince. Bob as I said, respect for your opinion, but I disagree. A simple thank you is hard to twist. A photo is lazy. I have never been a purple koolade drinker either. Have been totally objective about Prince and his career decisions. Personally and selfishly I wish he and WB could have solved their problems and we got a truck load of remasters and vault material...big bloody sigh.
