Seems like they both wanted something from each other.She was trying to start her singing career and wanted Prince to produce an album for her.He was trying to re-vive his movie career and wanted her to co-star in 'Graffiti Bridge' with him.In the end,neither was willing to do what the other wanted and the relationship ended.

I mean, this was from personal accounts from people around them, that Prince did a lot of hanging out in the studios while she watched. She ended the relationship.
At this time Prince was in his Paisley Park seclusion, and not many intimate relationships around, like in 1982-1986 when a lot was happening his the camp.

What personal accounts Robyn Power spoke about the real reason Kim up with Prince and it had everything to do with his running around. You also had a lot of comments from Micheal Koppelmen who was working and hanging around at the time.
