Haven't seen the movie, sounds good but I do know the song. Now I'm wondering if "Sometimes it snows in April" wasn't inspired by the next Barbara Streisand movie hit, Evergreen's line "like a rose under the April snow". I was there and I don't remember him saying that it inspired him to write If I Was Your Girlfriend. For all we know, he didn't even see that movie until after he wrote the song. He talked about the movie and then went into IIWYG, bu that's it. [Edited 4/16/16 21:55pm] | |

Prince mentioned something about this at the show in Toronto last month. Not sure if it was inspired by the movie, but he asked us if we've seen the movie and mentioned that part in the movie, then went into waiting in vain/if I was your gf | |

So I can understand any influence on Prince by her.
