Montreux 2009 DVD First Show

I recently purchased this DVD, and am blown away by this show. Cannot stop watching it and find the entire performance mesmerising, so much so that I find it hard to isolate the one song that Prince does best. Perhaps 'When I Lay My Hands On You', perhaps 'When The Lights Go Down', perhaps 'The Beautiful Ones'. Just can't decide. I would be really interested to know which song others think is Prince's best in this show.

Killer version of Empty Room in the first show and phenomenal guitar work throughout both shows. The man is on point and the band is tight. To me this is Prince at the top of his game.

Me too. Still some great moments in the first show. Not sure that I can pick my top highlight from that show though.

RIP sad

I've always loved the 1-2 of Love Like Jazz and All This Love. There's a few great moments over both shows

Little Red Corvette is amazing, with that guitar intro (I don't remember if its show 1 or 2, maybe both).

Otherwise it's not that impressive, sorry I can't see or hear the "greatness", maybe its too jazzy for my taste... boxed

Always felt as if his vocals were a bit weak on the Empty Room performance tbh.

The man called Prince did a bad deal.

Free shows do not come on discs.

Nowadays one pays for the service of stuff being pressed onto a disc.

Thus a means of storage is provided.

One only needs to provide a shelf.

oooooooook.

.

mine is on a disc as well. for a fraction of the cost you could download it, burn a disc. make artwork (or usually find some already made online), even print on the disc itself. and then put it on a shelf. welcome to the 21st century.

.

or.... keep putting a fortune into bootleggers bank accounts who probably did nothing more than what i just described you could do.

.

whatever works for ya

He teased it on 3rdEyeTunes with a new trailer but never followed through.

I wish he'd approach Netflix or Amazon and get that big upfront check he wants for these live performances. He also taped all three nights of 2013.

At Montreux they tape everything.

That is part of the deal.

Yes, but haven't gotten my hands on the 2013 shows yet; am hoping to acquire these really soon so I can continue to OD on P.
