With respect to your alert, Drew's a hack.

He might have once been a good psychologist, but now he's more worried about his tan, and ratings.

i know many do not like drew, but i have been watching every day since prince passed. he has been very fair and quick to defend prince against the "he was an addict" theories. not casting blame on addicts, either, but if prince was not one, he should not be classified as such.

drew has treated this with dignity, and as a prince fam himself, i expect nothing less from him.

Eh, I need to hear it for myself at this point. But I can't watch it, and I never see a full episode online so I remain very skeptical.

todays coverage was very brief.they mentioned the guy in jail who claims to be the son probably having to do a dna test. they also mentioned the pills/pain issue and dr drew said he has seen recent performances of prince where he was moving quite well and that he is having trouble with the "hip injury" leading to percocet narrative but that if he had been on pain pills at one point sometimes pain pills make pain worse over time.

then they discussed the interesting timing of the memoir and whether prince, as a very private person, was willing to share his story because perhaps he had a serious underlying medical issue and knew he did not have a lot of time left to live. he said that that info would be part of the autopsy report.

that was about it.

oh and a lawyer said it was no big deal that kirk and the others have lawyers and doesn't mean they did anything wrong. she said in a high profile case its normal to have a lawyer to speak for you when there is great public interest.

I guess that's okay for the mainstream people. I've stayed away from much of the mainstream "news" until recently and now find it shocking what is being presented to the average nonchalant person as the "truth" behind the mystery of Prince. So I guess Dr. Drew's providing a service for those folks, getting the kinks out, here and there.

Self preservation. I don't blame them. I don't even want to know how Tyka acted after all this went down. I doubt it was pretty. They may not have been The Waltons, but that's her brother come hell or high water.

Agree with this and I like Dr Oz too...
I find it odd when I hear people calling Prince an addict etc. and he being not just a celebrity but PRINCE going into Walgreens to fill his own prescription somehow does not sound like an addict to me.

yeah i know...like an "addict" would stroll into walgreens and pick up his stuff...although i have heard that pain meds are pretty tightly controlled. also, if he was agitated as has been reported he may have wanted out of the house to get it himself, even if it was prescription level advil, who knows at this point.

Dr. Drew has been one of the few doctors on tv to not simply chalk up Prince's life as that of a drug addict.. so I definitely respect that...

I don't know if Drew was a fan butI can see he developed a respect for Prince.
Also, he's an addiction specialist and is very insightful.
He does defend Prince all the time and has done so fiercely. Anytime a guest comes on and mentions Prince's "addiction", Drew is quick to correct them.

Drew makes the clear distinction between being an addict and having a dependency.
