Reissue! What would you like to see??

Perhaps one day Prince will reissue each and everyone of his albums! But if you were involved what would you like to see??

Perhaps outakes?

Live versions?

Unreleased material?

Alternative versions?

Thoughts please??

While I am aware of the added value outtakes add to a reissue I would rather have outtakes organized in cohesive compilation albums than spilled all over reissues (unless they form they own separate album, maybe alongside b-sides, in a multi-CD rerelease).

Unrealistically, I want some kind of "Legacy Collection." The 1979-1989 albums, individually released with outtakes and extended cuts.

More realistically, I just want a pair of double albums containing cleaned up outtakes from '79-'89.

He won't but hopefully his estate will or whoever buys the rights to it since he has noone to leave it to. I just hope I am around to hear it and witness it.

oh boy

- PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES.. .HIGH QUALITY PICTURES from the era

- STORIES BEHIND THE SONGS ... either from P's mouth or the others involved... how did the songs evolve.. what don't we know about these songs that we have carried with us for years

- MEGA GREAT SOUND QUALITY - i have no idea what that means technically... but my god.. Parade/SOTT my 2 favorite albums of all time just sound so terrible!!!! I have to turn the volume up all the way .. i want to hear every single nugget in these songs!

- UNRELEASED / OUTTAKES - just let us have them already!!! why do i need to listen to my awful bootlegs.. I WILL PAY, PRINCE... I WILL GLADLY PAY!

- LIVE.. I mean, there is no great live Prince album.. THIS IS A CRIME

- EXTENDED VERSIONS: again, just let me have them.. I want a great sounding version of the Mountains extended version... is that asking for too much in exchange for my years of devotion?

- NOT LIMITED to 1978-1988... I WANT EMANCIPATION and CHAOS & DISORDER on VINYL!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think P will ever let outtakes go out of his vault, and if yes I have fear we could receive "updated" or "edited" versions of them.

Same with possible unheard "Live".

I would be happy with remastered 2CD releases collecting on the 2nd CD all the B-Sides and the Mixes of the era.

To be honest, I think it is the best we can wait for. I'm not that positive, regarding P Legacy.

As for pictures, stories and other no audio goodies.... well, I'm not that interested.

1980-88 REMASTERED, all individual box set. in 1984 alone you can fill

up to 14 CDS of concerts, outtakes, b-sides etc...

ex. SOTT with a full live show, the DM and Crystall Ball configurations.

1999 with moonbeam levels on separate disc, full triple threat shows.

won't happen until after his death though.

Well, I'm sure he wants his music to be immortalised for future generations to appreciate. However, most people under 30 these days find that 80's sound to be a little difficult to get used to, and they think it sounds a bit dated. There are so many brilliant songs that take a while for new listeners to appreciate, purely because of the tools he used to create them. Therefore, I'd like him to release a remastered version of his 80's albums, or possibly re-recordings, with a clearer/fresher mix etc (e.g. the delayed vocals on Pop Life sound quite dated, he might benefit from releasing an updated version which more clearly expresses his original musical ideas). The original recordings still exist, but his original ideas could resurface using modern mixing tools.

Ok - should reissues/remasters ever come to fruition, i would love to see him release Crystal Ball in all its remastered glory (and include U Got the Look as an additional track as it wasnt part of the final crystal ball tracklist). Prince this is how you originally wanted the set (WB thought it was too extravagant) - here's your chance to release it how you wanted it. Classic!

Side 1
"Rebirth of the Flesh"

"Play in the Sunshine"

"Housequake"

"The Ballad of Dorothy Parker"

Side 2
"It"

"Starfish and Coffee"

"Slow Love"

"Hot Thing"

Side 3
"Crystal Ball"

"If I Was Your Girlfriend"

"Rock Hard in a Funky Place"

Side 4
"The Ball"

"Joy in Repetition"

"Strange Relationship"

"I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"

Side 5
"Shockadelica"

"Good Love"

"Forever in My Life"

"Sign o' the Times"

Side 6
"The Cross"

"It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night"

"Adore (Until the End of Time)"

Besides obviously the remasters with unreleased tracks from the vault, one day i would really like to see an all single-box, with all the 7" versions and b-sides. Especially the ones that were never available on cd, or hard to find. I prefer the originals! but would really like to have the shorter versions as well.

Love the Hits/B-side compilation for that but it's no where near complete.

And wonder why the album versions for Alphabet St and Lets go crazy are on it, while most tracks are the edited versions.

On my wishlist for example: edit versions of The Future (remix), Pink cashmere, Batdance, Alphabet St, Let's pretend we're married, Hot thing, Automatic, Scandalous, Insatiable to name a few.
