You may be right, but nothing in that article suggests anything of the sort - in fact, Tidal has recently released numbers indicating that they are doing reasonably well and that their subscriber base has increased dramatically. What Jay Z is alleging is that he and his partners were mislead about how much the company was worht when they bought it.

There's been so much bad news for this service from the beginning, where there's smoke there's fire. Apple and Spotify are all that people can handle I think. Personally I already pay for SiriusXM and Spotify and Tidal. The only reason I pay for Tidal is Prince, and I would like him to move elsewhere so I can save $10 bucks a month. I don't think people want to pay for more than 1 or 2 services. Most of the music is the same on all of them.
Here's another article about their internal problems-

I still have all my Prince Cd's and I loaded them onto itunes. But the fact is, with streaming, I can go anywhere and instantly make a quick playlist and stream it to bluetooth speakers, in my car or my headset and not worry about itunes interface and whats in the cloud and whats not and all that. Its just much easier. But I am very sad that there is no physical product. They do sound better for sure and I still own hundreds of cds but never play them. ______________________________________________

I'm not sure how you can stream or have anywhere as u need a connection and also have to pay every month. I still can't work out why that's better than owning a cd and putting it on ur stuff. £10 for ur subscription and at to that at least £20 for ur 3G/4G whatever it doesn't add up. And u still don't 'have' the music. Comin str8 outta Preston...

That way "I" get to choose if I want it on my smartphone or stereo, at ANY time I wish.

Streaming is and always will be a failed concept .. Its probably fine for mickymouse club pop tween music ... But people who actually listen and care about good sounding music will never bother with streaming ... Its like fast food for music

Streaming does suck, but the convenience is a definite factor. I have stuck with Tidal the longest after trying Spotify and Pandora. Hated both. Tidal seems to have the easiest and most logical UI. Whil I prefer CD's and my turntable while listening at home, in the car, where I spend a lot of time in the Bay area given traffic, Tidal, or whichever service you prefer is a god send. I can literally choose from any number of genres and listen to pretty much anything I want. I even try to take in new genres, which has prompted me to buy things I never would have before. Outside of that use case, I don't use it at all. I don't mind paying $10/month for that convenience at all.

I just don't like the idea of paying to rent someone else's music library.
