Tribute bands What are some good Prince tribute bands? I'm going to go see one next week and another one is coming to town in the near future. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen one live.

Seen Purple Rain/Reign live. Very talented guys and you get to hear Prince songs you might not hear normally. Endorphinemachine also have a great reputation.

Purple Reign, along with "The Time", (in Las Vegas), used to be incredibly good. It has been 5 years since I've seen them, though.

My friend just informed me that Dr. Fink is the bandleader for this band. That should be interesting.

Who are you going to see? And where at? Interesting you say another one is coming to town in the near future...Sounds like a market even though P is mostly still remembered by diehards. Erotic City out of Portland is very good. [Edited 2/16/16 22:03pm]

Just see the Purple Xperience @ the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL & the show was so awsome. I don't even like live music but that band was great, thanks Doc!!! Ace on the Bass!!!!

Saw the band last week and it was just incredible. The dude sounds just like Prince. The music is exciting as hell and the band really sounds great. Dr. fink really takes this to the next level as far as tribute bands go. It might be the added authenticity of having one of the original members that was a in the band for so long that makes the music so authentic.
One thing I do have to say is that The dude not only sings dances and plays the guitar and piano like Prince, but he has a whole lot more charisma than Prince. A definite human nature to his jokes and rapport with the audience. ( I know some will disagree, but, oh well...) And yes, I have seen Prince live, so I have some knowledge of what he's like live. So has my friend and his wife who went with me, and they totally agree with me on this
Beginning with Uptown, through the 90's and ending with Purple Rain, this band was thoroughly entertaining. I recommend you see them if you get the chance.

Not exactly a tribute band, but in Austin, TX there is a band called Foot Patrol that will host a Prince night once a year or so and they'll play Purple Rain or 1999 in its entirety. The singer is amazingly talented. Not the best video, but worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/w...1zwdgFxV3s
