How do I join this Elite Group of Prince Fans that always get to hear these Unreleased Tracks and Bootlegs? LOL.... It's like a Secret Society. It's interesting hearing others talk about these rare and great unleased Prince music material....but it is also very frustrating. I've been a Prince Fan from the beginning and I've barely heard any of this stuff.

I'm not sure what u mean.

If u mean access to all those widely circulating outtakes and live bootlegs it's not a secret society at all and those recording are all over the internet, hardly hard to find at all. I fail to see how you could have missed that stuff if you've been a fan for 30+ years

If u mean joining the handful of people that have a few uncirculating recordings, then you simply... don't.

I'll be honest, I could not find anything either, until 1 friend gave me something and a hint and after that I found the music everywhere.

But in the olden days, you definitely DID have to know someone to get the uncirculating stuff. If you were starting off cold turkey, the best way to meet someone in the know was to go to a record convention. There you could meet collectors and traders, and buy stuff from exhibitors (although, of course, it was ALWAYS kept under the table). And all the while you'd be hoping the FBI didn't come barging in and arrest everyone. Talk about fun!

After you met someone, then it would be a matter of them getting you into a "trading tree". Traders would offer their stuff in trade for stuff they didn't have. If you didn't have anything rare, you could trade blank cassettes (usually in a 2:1 ratio). This was all done by mail.

You had to be patient and trusting but when you got something new, man did it feel like something!

I can't imagine there's anything uncirculating that's worth listening to. Or even that there is anything at all uncirculating. Maybe someone has a fan-made concert that they never put out there, but that's probably it.

I don't think there's so much left (I mean how many songs could have leaked? we already have hundreds) but from what I could gather over the years I think there's probably a few dozen more songs or versions, including those we've only have been given snippets, and a handful of shows or rehearsals.

Well there's still the list of stuff from the Broken Faucets thread isn't there? Only maybe half of that has reached wider circulation ... unless i've been totally asleep this past year

I guess i'm always overly cautious. I always try to prevent my hardrive from crashing. There is a lot of malware on alot of this free downloading sites.

I'm more of a collector of Prince Remixes and Alternate Versions of Songs, Demos, and 12 inches. A few years ago a friend hooked my up with The Work volumes and some other collections. At the time I thought most of the songs were recording in very poor quality. Not to mention I thought most tracks were sub par songs.

Of the unreleased songs I liked Wonderful Ass, Extra loveable, Rebirth of Flesh. I always wanted to get a clear version of Prince doing the Mazarati songs "100 mph" and "Players Ball".

I like most of princes stuff pre 2001.

Has the Work ever been re-released with High Quality Versions of the Forementioned Songs???

Well FIRST OFF,

1) You have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. Now, we do this to beginners usually just for a laugh, but you seem like a cool guy (or girl), so I gave you a heads up! We laugh at you, then it leads up to the ritual afterwards!

2) 2 begin the ritual, U need 2 start using these Princeboionics. It may seem stupid and pointless at 1st, but do it, every1 else does it, so U should do it 4 some reason.

3) After U say, "Yes. want 2 start the goddamn ritual.", U'll hear a sudden silence. As we R all gathered around U, our group starts 2 chant the chant that can be heard N the song "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night". AS IT GOES ON, IT GETS LOUDER AND FASTER. And the group continues this ridiculous chant UNTIL U DRINK THE HOT PURPLE KOOL-AID (with a drop of blood from 1 of our members).

4) After that, U should have enough strength to listen to the Kama Sutra album. After U've heard that crap (in its entirety while we watch you), U're N the PURPLE ELITE.
