"....a band whose soul belongs 2 god" (the beginning of Eye No)

i was listening to "Eye No" just now and heard something on my headphones at the
1:00 minute mark that i hadn't noticed before, these last 28 years. so i did a little
searching and what do you know, on Princevault it says:

During the song's opening you can faintly hear "Near the bridge of graffiti there lives a band
whose soul belongs to god.
" Although the song Graffiti Bridge had already been recorded in July
1987, this is the first mention of Graffiti Bridge on a Prince release.

eek eek eek eek eek eek eek

for 28 years i've been listening to this album, and never have i heard that before until tonight.

*mind blown*

All these years, I though the was saying 'this soul belongs to God.'

I can hear it more distinctly now... near the bridge of graffiti...right at the 59 second mark.

cool Oh I figured that's what you meant...I had to do some write-down math to make sure I was right

thinking it was 28.

There's a horn that's panned far to the left on either Eye No or Alphabet St. that runs throughout the song that I didn't notice for over a year. Makes me wonder all the little things I'm missing in his songs. Probably a fuckload.

listening in headphones reveals lots of surprises, especially on 80s-era tracks. Absolutely love Eye No and all the songs about positivity.. music and hope elevate one another
