"Sideways" (Citizen Cope w/Santana) and "Gotta Shake This Feeling"

I've been playing these 2 tracks, back to back on repeat, for a while now. They're very much the same groove. I know Shake This Feeling is just a Purple Rain rehearsal, but it is much more desperate song.

I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed a similarity in the 2 tracks.

If Prince ever decided to cover Sideways, he would utterly own it.
