Depends on which bootleg you're listening to? Not sure of the bootleg name. I downloaded it about 10 years ago. I usually listened to an edit that I made that cuts off at 3:02 or so, but I believe the original is over 7 minutes. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony" |

In that case, the answer is most likely, yes. Quite a few of Prince's unreleased tracks have only just recently had their speeds corrected. I'd recomend the most recent Blast From The Past 3.0 for the best version of Extralovable. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain. |

Xtraloveabe HNR2 = Lounge/Elevator Music
Nothing remotely Lounge about it, it's an in-your-face arrangement. Nothing soft about it. |

His new version fit the album sound more, than if he was to release the old version with the album. I like both, and to me they are two different enjoyable songs for different reasons. |

I like both versions, slighty prefer the original. But if this is the way he reloads tracks from the vault, keep em coming.

U may not hear it but eye am sure there are aspects of his past and unreleased outtakes that make p cringe and he wishes did not exist in public ... Eye don't believe p is in any hurry to have his speado wearing videos up on u tube ... And he sure as hell don't want that rape lyric version of extraloveable popping up on google searches ... That said, eye think the entire point of rerecording extraloveable was to bury any reference to the original on google .. Smart move ... Eye enjoy the horns version ... Its certainly better than like a mac or millidollAshow .. And way better than the andy allo version ... Eye dont mind the old version but it never gripped me like say we can funk or old friends 4 sale originals .. Eye am happy prince is redoing old outtakes ... 1000 hugz was good .. Eye don't mind old friends, large room, or if eye could get your attention ... Eye would love a new moonbeam levels or electric intercourse to show up ... Much better than his freshly penned tunes these days
Yes. He's too self-aware now to make anything worth a damn. He's fixed and improved every aspect of his artistry to the point that it's no longer art at all. This is the problem.
completely agree...and that is exactly what will spoil this memoir he is writing. There are too many taboo topics that will not get touched. Its a shame he cannot embrace his entire legacy, fine that he may have outgrown some of the lyrics/innuendo, but at the end of the day that is what made him, what moulded him to what he is today. All i can say is thankgod we managed to get head/Sister/We can Funk/erotic city/etc....there is no way for him to remove these from the ether |

I'm pretty sure the earlier versions are too fast. Just something that I think is verifiable by using your ears and being familiar with what Prince's vocals typically sound like.

I'm pretty sure that thousands of people didn't notice the speed difference and nearly all of them are familiar with Prince's voice. . Is the "corrected" bootleg version as slow as the official releases or somewhere in between the faster, early bootleg version? "Love & honesty, peace & harmony" |

I didn't mean that it would be self-evident to everybody.
Most people are not familiar with what audio that's not playing at correct speed sounds like. Especially if the difference is only marginal, as is the case with this track. Of course, more and more people are familiar with such things these days because they have used audio processing software on their computers.
I have a hunch that the "corrected" version might be a bit too slow. I've tried to correct the playing speed of many outtakes myself and it's not that easy to tell what the right speed is. All the EQ'ing and other tinkering that the bootleggers are doing these days tends to take away a lot of energy from the tracks too.

speed tinkering is to butcher the unreelased track so THEY only have the proper version |
