I've often wondered about the "muddled" lyrics during the extended mid-section of the track. I keep seeing this description whenever I've tried to figure out what he was saying:

"The extended "Special Dance Mix" of the song was performed in a slightly edited version in the film Purple Rain. It contains a longer instrumental section in the middle, including a solo on an apparently out-of-tune piano and some muddled lyrics, repeating the track's introduction."

Is he really just repeating the track's intro lyrics? Apologies if this is a silly question for our elite members but I've honestly always wondered about this.

I can't hear and don't really get it. But now I've listened to it all for the first time, I really dig from 4.32 onwards....funky!

I've never really noticed lyrics at all in this bit--I mean, I heard vocal sounds, but I never thought they were actual words. I'll have a listen later today and see what I hear.

It's the recital of the Dearly Beloved sermon lyrics with the difference being the phrase ends not with "The Afterworld" but rather "THE REVOLUTION"
