Best bootleg artwork?

As any of you collectors will know, some bootlegs have had absolutely amazing graphic design work.

The one that Reverend did for "The Bird Rehearsal" springs to mind, and the one for the "Monarchy In The UK" DVD.

Which are your favorites?

Basically anything by Rev. Really great stuff that puts a lot of official artwork to shame.

I always loved the design that Rev did for the Viage2 release on FBG. Simple, colourful, beautiful.

Another one I loved was the FBG Prince & The Revolution Aug 2nd Madison Square Garden, artwork by Anonymouse! Just like those old jazz records.

The very first release of City Lights and Studio Nights looked quite good for that time.

Many bootleg covers look so good that I often think the bootleggers should be in charge of designing the official releases. The hardcore fans (i.e. bootleggers) have a good understanding of Prince´s aesthetics and they know what kind of design or fonts to use , depending on the era of the music or show. The Purple Rush series looked nice, too.

Too bad that this will never happen because it would be like employing your worst enemy.

( I´m not against them, just looking at it from Prince´s perspective. As far as I´m concerned bootleggers are good archivists of his body of work).

Reverend should definitely be on call for all of Prince's releases.

.

.

The 37/2 boot of the Glam Slam Miami show is nicely done, I think:

.

.

And Days of Soundboard Vol. 5 is great

.

The clouds on is pretty cool. Nice how Prince gets everybody's creative juices flowing.

Prince's motto must be "That'll do." Cheap and nasty? "That'll do." Artwork that a blind man would baulk at? "That'll do." Pez dispenser design for ever more? "That'll do." All artwork shite since WB? Cock a doodle doo!

Days of Soundboard Vol 5 is amazing. The original photo ranks among the coolest of Prince pictures.

No one has ever done it better than Moonraker/Thunderball.

Fantasia, Deposition, and Dreams set the standard and they still look completely gorgeous today.
