Wondering now. Since he's releasing all these individual songs from the gig...and he already stated they would be available to stream next week...can we deduce that the entire gig may be what's released to stream next week? One can only hope, right? |

' singing on this new tour is PHENOMENAL! It's actually showcasing his unaffected, flawless vocal range more than his eclectic piano chords. Since it's no other instruments drowning it out.
It's really NOTHING he can't do. [Edited 3/11/16 16:37pm] will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

Remind me: how many did AOA sell? And who didn't promote said album after bitching about it for weeks?
.
He just sold out a 20k arena with crazy high prices just playing the piano. Who cares about how many people are looking at a video or listening without paying for anything. YouTube views are not a measure of popularity having people actually pull money out of their pockets is a better measure.
.
Oh please, those are cheap techniques: create scarcity, feed the "event" culture,...
.
Let's see him release an album, properly promote it, tour it (and actually tour it, i.e. playing the songs from that album). But he doesn't do that, now does he? Why not? Oh lemme see, because he can't find a sucker who'll fund such an enterprise because he's burned so many bridges before?
On the other hand, you've been acting like Prince is on the verge of oblivion for nearly 20 years, and here he is, still getting rave reviews and filling venues while you rant on.

Well the Musicology tour was the highest grossing tour by ANY artist that year 2004. Making almost 90 million!! No wonder Kirky J has never left his side @ Paisley Park! Because can afford to keep him there as Paisley Park site manager,Drummer,Bodyguard, producer,Band member etc.Don't hate! Which gives him the luxury of doing only HitnRun spot dates the rest of his life of his choosing. .
Wow! made 5 MILLION from just the Coachella performance alone!!!

Wow, that´s not a very nice thing to say about Kirk Johnson.
So are you trying to say Kirk is there because Prince is rich? And Kirk is basically a hanger-on, a male gold digger?
You usually never badmouth people from Prince´s camp, so I wonder what made you say this about him?
I for one am always happy to see certain people, such as Kirk Johnson, being there for Prince for such a long time, and in so many different functions. The same goes for people like Morris Hayes and other former band members and associates. And they´re usually nothing but friendly when fans speak with them or ask them something.

Nice to have the recording...guess it always means that little bit more when you have a 'momento' of the show u attended. Like anyone who can listen to audio of a show they were at...u relive the excitement of the moment all over again. Hearing the Tidal recording...I see Prince in the Opera House as vivid as the night he performed it. He's shared Love Thy Will Be Done, LRC/DM & now Joy...could be leading to an offical full show release? |

I paid for both of these (admittedly MP3 but I've never been able to tell the difference between lossy and lossless so I don't care too much) and yet I definitely think the sound quality of Joy In Repetition could have been better, yeah it sounded better than a bootleg but that's pretty much a given, and for an official soundboard release it could have been better. To be fair Dirty Mind/LRC did seem improved.
Anyway hope that Prince will give us a full concert to download (which I would gladly pay) instead of just these isolated tracks. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

why is it always so difficult to get Prince music. I actually have a Tidal account butg cant' stream the song. So I go to buy it and instead of using my credit card info on file, I apparently have to put it all in again.
And unlike every other site in the world, Tidal has a message that they can't make the download work with Safari and have to instead email me a link that I have to use with another browser?
It's way too much trouble to just buy one song. I'll just wait a few days and see if it shows up in iTunes.
Not Sure whats going on with everyone that is having all these problems. I streamed the the songs last night, liked them so I bought the mp3 versions. I have had a Tidal subscription since it started, tried the free trial for a month and never looked back. It has been a fine service so far, and Prince coming on board just turned out to be gravy for me. I notice that most of the people making negative comments are people who do not actually use the service (in fact, most brag about the fact that they never will/would). I just don't get the negativity around it (some people just hate streaming as a concept? Hate Jay-Z? Hate paying for music?). |

Where to begin. Please take a seat, this may change everything for you and relieve a great deal of the concern you appear to be having for Prince's financial situation. Prince is a Multi-Millionaire. A Multi-Millionaire.
The very fact that he could have made more money but is choosing to something else is actually a compliment. Prince has had very little true financial concerns since he was about 20. I genuinely don't know what you think is going to happen. Prince on welfare? Prince Homeless? I love how you take the Bowie estimated figure but ignore Prince's estimated figure which is $300Million http://www.therichest.com...net-worth/
This may come as a shock to you but Prince is in charge of his own business. He could have decided in 1993 not to release another song. Prince has high levels of control over his business, does what he loves is wealthy and celebrated. One Private party could pull in millions. It's all fine. Really.

Meanwhile the fact is that in the mid-1990s the Star Tribune had a multi-article special about Prince being in financial trouble. Paying bills late and taxes also are often a standard practice for a lot of Companies. I have worked for big companies who only pay when they are chased, it does not mean the fundamentals are in any difficultly.
