I just wandered over to the Songwriters Hall of Fame website and realized that Prince hasn't ever been inducted. Is that right?

He should be in it for sure, and I'd bet he will be at some point. I don't know what their eligibility rules are, but you'd think Prince has been around long enough to qualify.

WTF?!? For goodness sake, what kind of criteria are they going by that Prince has not yet qualified to be inducted? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Everyone's known since early in his career that he stood out as one of the industry's most profilic writers. With all he has written and given to the proteges and associated artists over the years, and the brilliance of his work, the chart-topping throughout the eighties, it is insane that he would not be in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. What gives?

I actually thought he was in. I seem to remember seeing footage of him at SHF event being honoured for something during the Nude Tour/Graffiti Bridge era. Now that I think about it, I think it might have been for writing NC2U which, of course, was a massive hit.
