We have an abundance of Prince music and it's taken for granted

Just recently we have had a piano cd, enouggh rehearsal instrumentla tunes to make an e.p., the live 3 cd set, and Xpectation. This is just within the last year. There is something for everyones tatste somewhere in here.

And this isn't considering his other releases. Prince finally has a catalogue to listen to as prolific as the greats ( he's one too). In fact maybe more than some of them. Not even talking boots being included here. I remember reading somewhere that he once said that he wanted to have one fo the biggest catalogues in the record store. Well now that he went independent some of the releases arent available there but they are still accessible.

Qulaity, direction, lyrics etc are all taken into consideration and in all of this mess there's something for everyone to enjoy. I mean not every song insert name here released is/was a gold brick.

After each release it seems we or some salivate and are ready for th enext release..more music please more music please. I think we need to take time to digest and appreciate what we got in the meantime. We have recieved quite a bit and this music is here fo-eva. Anytime you can go to your cd storage and pull out some Prince shit and not have to worry about repeating what you heard for days, or even weeks.

I wouldn't say spoiled. I always likened Prince's music to heroin (not that I've ever used it). The more you use the more your body needs. His music is the same way. The more you hear the more you need to hear. What else could we expect from the greatest muscial artist who ever lived?

Yes, yes nod This is why I can go for days listening to only Prince before repeating one track.

Amen! pray

And when you throw the live videos and DVD's in as well, we are talking a serious catalogue of music! I think our man is catching Bob Dylan up for records released (Any Dylan fans in here able to throw in any stats out of interest please?)

rd was speaking of digesting the music over time. For the last week I have been driving around in my car with Dirty Mind, Controversy and 1999 playing and let me tell ya something... these albums are bang on point in 2003. They have a quality about them and stand the test of time and even sound better after each listen. That's just my opinion.

Spot on post rd worship

JonSnow

are we currently in the midst of the longest gap of P's career between regular, wide-released studio albums?

it's been.. what... 17 months since TRC, and nothing new in sight? That's a pretty short time frame for most major artists, but for P... is it the longest? Not sure.

But we got ONA studio and live, plus Xpectation... so yeah, 5 discs worth of material in the interim. Not bad. smile
