I gotta admit...I really dig the version of Cream that P did on the Arsenio Hall show way back in the 90's. I like the guitar solo that he did at the end of the song which is not on the studio version.

I heard the Arsenio version before the album version. I remember being disappointed that it was so much more 'produced.' It did grow on me tho.

That Arsenio version sounded like T-Rex to me & I loved it.

I thought the same thing.

I loved the version on Arsenio,but I always liked the album version too.

I know I haven't heard the Arsenio version in a long while.

Cream is one of those tracks that sounds dramatically different when performed live. It doesn't feature the studio components that dominate the studio recording (subdued echoed vocal delivery, organ, sparse arrangement). The live versions tend to be sped up, feature horns in the chorus, and in recent times, contains samples of the guitar licks from the studio recording. I like the guitar solo's on the Arsenio and concert versions which ultimately is my preference to the album recording.
