Prince paid to promote Vox guitars? Prince is great guitar player,we all know it but he sounds not that good on Vox guitar. it sounds like he is not comfortable playing it compared to Strats and Hohners, but he continues to play Vox. The sound of the guitar is awful and far removed from his guitar sound and solos sound rudamentary compared to his guitar playing on hohner od fender strat guitars. So do you think Vox pays him to promote their brend?

No. I have the exact model, plus hohner and cloud amongst others and the Vox is very comfortable and a joy to play so from the perspective of using the hohner for decades myself I can see why he would like it.

I think if Prince is being sponsored by them, he'd be playing them exclusively, which he isn't.

I don't think he's endorsed by Vox. But they are nice playing (and sounding) guitars. I played one a while ago with two humbuckers and they do the rock and roll thing very well.

No. Vox doesnt even make guitars anymore. Picked up one of their discontinued models on deep discount and its now what I usually pick up when I want to mess around. Its light, comfy, well constructed and sounds great (although i can see some think it sounds a little thin but I figure thats the trade off for the weight).
