Was this the first movie to feature Prince music?
Being a fan since Controversy, I was so ecstatic when I heard Sexuality played during one of the film's scenes. That made me wonder if Summer Lovers was the first movie to actually use Prince's music? Anyone know either way? A robin sings a masterpiece that lives and dies unheard...

Wiki says Sexy Dancer is also in there. Having been released in July 82, before 1999 was out, it may indeed be the first film A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

A little later in 83 came Risky Business which contains DMSR. Side note - Back in the day when 1999 was released on CD DMSR was omitted. So if you wanted DMSR on CD you had to get the import (No US release) of the soundtrack. And in hindsight, it's actually a really good soundtrack.

Totally, it was filmed in late 1981 and early 1982, released in August 1982. Sexuality was played on the boat scene with the orgy. They must have got an advance copy as it looks summery and the album was not released until October (Unless of course the scene was shot in May 1982). . That movie is alright, but so dated, even by 1982 standards, everyone still has 1970s style Leo Sayer perms and they still have discos which went right out of fashion in 1980 (Except maybe in Greece), plus the red and white striped shirts and flares. It is a bit 1970s sexual for the AIDs just say no 1980s. The movie feels more 1978/79 than 1982. Some of the other songs they play are hilarious like something called "Le Jet set" some bizarre eurodisco track. Best song is the 1982 Chicago smash So hard to say I'm sorry. . Saw the movie a few years ago on some budget ass movie channel we used to get. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I know this is a little later, but remember Dirty Mind in the party scene from The Wild Life? That was so out of nowhere. Then Ron Wood showing up at the party too. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

Not sure if it counts (or which came first), but Vanity 6's "He's So Dull" was in National Lampoon's Vacation...that was released in 82/83 IIRC. Make it so, Number One...

That movie was definitely 1983, but may have been taped in 82 judging by the perms and flares you still see. . Beverly Hills cop from 1984 also has Nasty girl playing at the strip club. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

We watch that show occasionally. For those not in the know, its a British property show, where people buy very run down or average looking homes and do them up to sell on for profit. Each show has 3 before and after stories and follows the people as they do up the old hosue, relaying on before and after shots, then a pair of estate agents value the renovated home for rental per month and outright sale. . Anyway they play 40 second sound bites of songs that are usually related to adjectives about each property or what needs to be done to them. The properties are ranging from average homes to early 1800s terraces which are like 8 feet wide and open on to the road that are pretty much falling down. Still when you can get one for like £20,000, who is complaining. The music is usually pretty cool too and they play a lot of soul and funk songs along with cheesier pop and rock.
