Yeah, man, this is what I'm talking about!!! Great stuff right here! clapping

This is one of those rare performances where even though it's an audience recording, I can still listen to it and love it. That said, I would do bad things to good people to get a soundboard of this. Or better yet, a bluray! evillol

If Prince cut together a CD of this material and PROMOTED it, I bet WB would put it out and he'd have a hit for sure. I'm all for more Phases of the HitNRun project, but something like this would go over great both critically and commercially. twocents

I like this so much better than the One Nite Alone piano CD, even more than the old Intimate Moments With Prince bootleg. This is like the old piano medleys he use to do on all his old tours expanded into a full show. headbang

Gonna listen again... music

Agree with all this. Especially on it being critically acclaimed if he released it. Of course he won't though. I'm loving show 2 - great to hear the likes of Call My Name, Dear Mr Man, Free Urself, 1000 Hugs & Kisses and Wow.

Who'd have thought he'd play Dirty Mind in a piano set! So random and it sounds great

Yes, wow.

I'm never going to get enough of this, (I haven't turned it off yet even while watching TV) it's my favorite Prince show of all my Prince shows.
What?

As nice as it is, I think the tour would be better if it was piano, guitar and microphone. It would be a richer intimate show. A solo Prince show without a guitar is almost like a BB King show without a guitar.

No, do that on the next tour! Also, piano is what he learned to play before guitar.

I don't think so. It's needs a little extra. It's nice and all but it could do with guitar to break it up a little. It's a little flat. Nice, but a little flat. Certainly sell a shit load more tickets and more critical attention.

Yeah that's cool. But I think it would be more organic and intimate if its just mixed up and less structured.

It's his storytelling and flirting, the audience participation, and whatever happens that's unexpected (like, he changes his lyrics, lol) that makes this already perfect for me. I love his guitar though. smile

Because it's nice seeing an intimate show with Prince by himself. It's just something so special to finally get to see that after all these years. Amazing really.

These shows are transcendent - the piano and Princes voice are more than enough, and its a wonderfully creative way to appreciate the gifts we have in Prince.

With the 60+ crowd beginning to drop like flies, let's appreciate the ever loving F*ck out of this man and be grateful, please.

Some of you won't know what you have till its gone and thats a damn shame and you're missing the perfection of NOW.

It was perfect in person and I really think him adding guitar wouldn't necessarily sell more tickets or get more critical attention.

I've only listened to the beginning of the show, but I can barely make out anything he says (it sounds like he's talking underwater while being slapped repeatedly). If I hadn't read descriptions of his comments, I'm not sure I would have understood anything from the intro.

I was there - standing right behind him on the piano in the corner under a speaker - and even I could not make it what was being said because there were so many effects being used. He would play a note and then stand up and walk around the piano in a circle...it was a strange way to start the show for sure...but it got a lot better!

Okay--so it was intentional. I thought maybe the person recording it had the device in a pocket with a bunch of Kleenex and some cough drops or something for that part.

I bet. And yes, I am basing it on badly recorded tracks that I am lucky enough to hear. I am not complaining. Just being bratty I guess.

Glad to hear newer tracks like Te Amo Corazon and Rock and Roll Love Affair. I love those tracks and they sound beautiful live as piano tracks. Venus De Milo sounds as beautiful as ever and it's a treat to hear Paisley Park.

I think a lot of these tracks sound amazing stripped down to piano. Shows how good the songwriting really is. Some actually sound better stripped of the heavy production like Anastasia.

Still shocked as to how good and "sweet" Dirty Mind sounds. It's very pretty, which says a lot for a song that is so aggressive on record.

.

P was paid to sing.

P omitted whole verses.

So I might understand he did a poor job of performing for that kind of money.

He did sing.
I think he changes(forgets) some lyrics. On Call My Name he started to sing something else and then stopped. lol

During `Dirty mind` he 'forgot' some parts.

And this is in the times of the teleprompter. Even Barry uses multiple!

More importantly when did you stop referring to him as 'the Prince man'

It is not that important when I am in a hurry. (hence the P)

The Prince man (aka P) has plenty of time to rehearse, plan his gig and the setup he will use there.

So why 'forget' lyrics?
