Was browsing the shops before the show yesterday and of course, made the obligatory visit to the "P" section. There, the standard stocks exists "Purple Rain", "The Hits", "Ultimate" and a different version of "The Very Best of Prince". Different in the sense that the cover art seems to have been negatively reversed during the print process? Perhaps this is a real version I've not come across before, but it looks rather odd and much of the collaged imagery details are lost due to this effect (or error). The back cover is also reversed out with the Scandalous pose also a negative image.

Is this legitimately an approved cover or a printing glitch?

good find though, was all the copies on the shelf like that,

my version has the original colours i never seen the photos inverted like that before.

this is the australian edition, right?

I don't think it's a printing glitch. If it were, I imagine the title text would be inverted too, but it's not. I think it's some WB employee's artistic decision.
