And this isn't considering his other releases. Prince finally has a catalogue to listen to as prolific as the greats ( he's one too). In fact maybe more than some of them. Not even talking boots being included here. I remember reading somewhere that he once said that he wanted to have one fo the biggest catalogues in the record store. Well now that he went independent some of the releases arent available there but they are still accessible. Qulaity, direction, lyrics etc are all taken into consideration and in all of this mess there's something for everyone to enjoy. I mean not every song insert name here released is/was a gold brick. After each release it seems we or some salivate and are ready for th enext release..more music please more music please. I think we need to take time to digest and appreciate what we got in the meantime. We have recieved quite a bit and this music is here fo-eva. Anytime you can go to your cd storage and pull out some Prince shit and not have to worry about repeating what you heard for days, or even weeks. I would take one solid and amazing album over the 4 cds we got last year. The quality of the songs should be considered as well.

Oh my God! :ill" But I agree with you RDHULL, we have been given a tremendous amount of music - more than any other artist, and we need to be thankful for it - take time to savor it! Great thread RDHULL!

Thats why I said not every artist shits a gold brick..it is taken into consideration. And as I said there's someting in the new releases that should be pleasing to most of the general Prince fan public out of all the recent releases and by the looks of it...there is. A "solid amazing" album is something we want from everyone all the time and the last was TRC (yup) a little more than a year ago..so as I stated before, the releases during the year have been quite substantial and quantity as well as quality ..in my opinion. . True, Prince did spoil us and now I guess he is trying to unspoil us. I could never have too much music from Prince.
With all he has released plus if you count the boots you probably couldn't collect them all in a life time. But I must say in my book there is noone to tide me over from Prince.

Moderator | All Yall are agreeing, but I won't be happy till Prince calls me on the phone every Friday and plays all the new shit he's written that week for me.
Until that day comes I'ma spend my days complaining I want more!!! And Jon snow is right this is the longest break between studio albums that I can remember! In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
