Lorin Park sessions question

All the info states it is Andre,Prince and Bobby playing on those jazz funk instrumentals but Prince is listed as a keyboardist, and on one instrumental you can hear guitar solo and rhythm guitar along with synth, bass and drum.So did Prince played a guitar on one of the instrumentals and if he did he overdubbed it over live studio jam with Andre and Bobby?

Unfortunately I don't think anyone knows. Obviously there must have been some overdub, unless there was someone else in the studio with them to play the guitar. Which instrumental are u talking about (they are usually numbered despite having no titles)?

There is no guitar on the Loring Park Session instrumentals. What you are hearing is Prince playing a clavinet keyboard that has sounds that has the timbre of a guitar.

OK so I'm finally listening to it (#5). I hear a guitar too though, if it's a clavinet then I'll be fucked because it really sounds like a guitar, and I'm a bit skeptical about keys technology in 1977 allowing such an illusion but I'm no gear tech nor keys player so IDK.

Whether guitar or keys, either there was a fourth man or Prince definitely overdubbed himself, as u can here TWO keys (or one key and one guitar if the guitar isn't a clav) played at the same time all along the track.

As far as I can tell those instrumentals are not listed on Princevault, which I find irritating as hell.
