I was thinking about a lyric in "Positivity" and I think I've got it figured out.

"Do you dream straight up, or do you dream in W's?"

I believe this to mean if your preference is men or women.

I came to this conclusion from his TV appearance where he sang "Billy Jack Bitch" on some awards show, if I remember. He also sang "Endorphinemachine" and "I Hate U". Anywhoo, the dancers were dressed interestingly enough. The men had what appeared to be a print of a capital letter "I" on their briefs and the women had what appeared to be a slightly stretched letter "W" The letters probably meant their privates -- the letter I for the man's private and the letter W to indicate the woman's vulva. Strange, but if you dream in W's you may be dreaming of women. If you dream straight up (letter I) then you dream of men. What do you folks think?!?

I thought it just meant to do you dream/think/hope positivity, or do your they go up and down with your mood/state.

SOMEBODY explain what the duck this is suppose to mean? The only thing I can think of is "do you get a lot of erections during the night, or do you just experience one long erection? Would that constitute a "Gold Experience"?

During your sleep cycle brainwaves are sent out from your brain and can be traced using a polysomnogram. A polysomnogram is a test of sleep cycles and stages through the use of continuous recordings of brain waves (EEG), electrical activity of muscles, eye movement (electrooculogram), respiratory rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and heart rhythm and direct observation of the person during sleep.

There are 2 states of sleep: non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. REM sleep is associated with dreaming and generalized muscleparalysis sparing the eye muscles and diaphragm. NREM sleep has 4 stages distinguishable by EEG waves. REM sleep alternates with NREM sleep approximately every 90 minutes. A person with normal sleep usually has 4 to 5 cycles of REM and NREM sleep during a night.

The results of the polysomnogram often look like the results of a seismograph with consistant straight lines representing undisturbed sleep and fluctuations in the lines representing disturbed sleep. Presumably, when a person is feeling a crisis of conscience, the results of a polysomnogram would reflect a disturbance that would fluctate up and down like a 'w' instead of 'straight up' like a flat line result would.

The line "Do you dream in W's" to me means do you question yourself/regret things you've done (who, what, where etc) or do you dream straight up - no regrets/the truth

hmm. i figured that dreaming straight up meant dreaming rather prosaic, straightforward dreams, whereas do you dream in W's means dreams that are more out of this world, creative, psychedelic even - the kind of dreams that can inspire you because they take you to a different kind of reality.

so in other words, do you just see the world as it is, or as it could be?

i could of course, be talking complete bollocks though.
