Yes, that is probably why he sounds so rambling. 'Cause he only has the walls to share

his thoughts with.

And still the constant use of 'we', which reminds me of people in the nuthouse

who think they're Napoleon.

i'm curious now. did this bandmember go into prince's wardrobe and just take stuff which

he/she then sold to hard rock cafe?

or is it more like they went ahead and sold stuff they already had. like mayte selling his
clothes that she still had kicking about etc.

because if they stole from him, i can see why he would be miffed. if they didn't and just
sold 'their' prince items, it's kinda sad that he makes such a fuss.

either way, he comes across as pretty unpleasant to me, reading this. i mean, ewww neutral

.

Ok so your friends come over and they see a really cool jacket in your closet... They're like oh wow I love this jacket can I have it please?... You give it to them as a FRIEND and next thing U know its on display in some nasty fastfood chain restaurant and your friend made $$$ selling your gift... So that is ok because they didn't steal it from you right? eek

.

[Edited 12/22/15 20:00pm]

if they sell my jacket to a 'nasty fastfood chain restaurant' (that millions of people all over the world
seem to love and tons of artists are happy to have their stuff on the walls) 10 years after i gave it to
them, when they are having problems paying their bills or just want some extra cash, and whilst i am
a multi millionair who never looks back at his past, sure i would not mind at all.

i think i would look like a bit of an asshole if i went on to mention the whole matter in an interview biggrin

Prince: Hopefully, yeah. A new Greatest Hits. Because I never had anything to do with [The Hits/The B-Sides]. But put great liner notes in it to explain what record came from what and why."

Yeah, hopefully! I'll never take anyone elses word on "what, what and why" anymore anyway.

The article is gone from the site which is likely just as well. I guess I'll just stay clear of this bullshit and hope for some re-mastering at some point. I won't be holding my breath though. And, I agree with Soulalive, I would not want to hang around with Prince for more than 5 mins. He nonsense talk would drive me nuts. He's a master musician, but lacks in other areas.

Prince has lied before, and saying "most of what people said about me is wrong" is just a nice way of blurring the lines. From now on everything that's been or will be said about him should therefore be assumed wrong? No. Maybe TBO was for Susannah, maybe it wasn't. I don't necessarily take P's word for it, but now we know he dismissed that particular info. All I know for sure is P never liked other people talking about him, his music, life and career, and I can understand that but that's the ransom of success when u're a musician. Just because he says that most of the TONS of things former associates said is false doesn't mean it is. Some stuff has to be false or approximative, but I'm pretty sure a lot is true, or at least as true as people's memories are (there are always 2 sides to any story after all).

To use your example; Prince said the song, The Beautiful Ones, was written for the characters (or Apollonia) in the movie, then named Vanity as "the lost one" from his real life circumstances. Susannah's fans can cry about it not being her song, but just not to me.

All I got from this interview was a lot of pie in the sky and his usual over-defensive bravo but with an unguarded bitterness spiking almost every answer - is this why it was removed or maybe the religious gobbledegook?

also, that's what all the fans are waiting for with regards to remasters, a new greatest hits.

right? lol

it would be infuriating if it wasn't so funny.

when we do get remasters we'll get a 2 or 3cd greatest hits remastered falloff

oh and with extensive liner notes so prince can set the record straight since he's so hurt
and done wrong about the stories going round about his songs and their inspiration.

what, the greatest hits remastered package didn't sell 5 million copies? see, i told you the

real fans don't want remasters. i'll never remaster my albums now.

etc etc.

Kafka couldn't have written it better lol

I like you too/u2. Just/but not the band.

You can find the press releases on-line/on this site.

I also think that removing all you tweets shortly after posting them, is a bit dodgy.

What he said about Susan Rogers was pretty brash... Has their relationship been strained for a while, I thought she left at a mutual repsect?

"There was one engineer who said that their sole purpose in life was to get the stuff out of the vault, and get it copied so it wasn’t lost to the world. I’m trying to figure out if that’s illegal. Should I fear for my safety that you might need some medical attention? You want to come up in my vault and you feel like that belongs to you and that’s your purpose? You better find something to do. That’s scary."

I don't think she said that. Her purpose was to get everything that was laying around and unorganized, and put it one place, effectively creating "The Vault."

Exactly. In theory, she screed more about his music and legacy back then than he did. Instead of ripping her, he should be thanking her. I know a lot of fans on this org would have moved on from prince save for that occasional moment of brilliance that comes our way in the form of an unreleased gem.

I bet this interview was covertly recorded because it appears as if it was quoted verbatim. Even with taking notes I don’t think it would be possible to get this level of detail. That might be why it was yanked.....Prince knows it was recorded and that violated the terms of the interview.

Of course, the set sold disappointingly because Prince did no serious promo. It's baffling how such a fantastic set -- three CDs for the price of two and one of those CDs being a collection of B-Sides most of which were vinyl only, fantastic liner notes, at least one stunning previously unreleased track -- sold so little, whereas other artists have collections that are million sellers.

Are you joking? The Hits/The B side is terribile. Bad mixing, bad tracklist, bad fade-out for long tracks.

I quite like this interview and don't think Prince sounds bitter. He gives props to Morris Day, Eric Leeds, Dr Fink (and Josh biggrin ). He admits he finds it hard to trust people (that's what the story about the coat is about, not money). That comes with the territory when you're a celebrity. He doesn't like people psychoanalysing him and telling false stories about him (who would?). He's genuinely into music and enjoys creating and playing music with other people. He rightly thinks he has something to teach in this regard.

I'm looking forward to the new Greatest Hits, and the religious reinterpretation of all his lyrics. 'Godhead', 'Do Unto Others, Baby', 'Soft And Wet Head Full Of Wounds'.

I have no preference for the Susannah theory. P's explaination makes perfect sense. Just saying now we have 2 contradictory statements. If I was to write abook about P or an article about the making of PR, I'd feel I'd have to report both testimonies.

Anybody who says about/to Prince, "just feel real emotions" may have listened to his music, but they have not yet heard it. Not that they would care, but I feel a bit sorry for Bart and Ludvig, honestly. Just a bit.

As a proud member of the childfree community, I find this comment pretty offensive. As if having children was a necessary step in having real emotions and growing as a human being rolleyes

There's more to life than kids, and not everyone is made for having them.
