Got it, thx. I can't figure how SO MANY words can be remembered by a person even with taking notes, since the innerviews can't be recorded. And I wonder how much of this is what P really said. It's a more intereresting intervew than most, but still a lot of what P supposedly said is very confusing to say the least. So I question the whole process: if u're gonna summerize a conversation from memory won't u at least try to have it make complete sense, keep the non-confusing parts? I think Prince is doing himself a great disservice by not allowing interviews being recorded: we end-up with recreated conversations that probably put a lot of words in his mouth that weren't even there in the first place. I'm with you on this. Prince was probably less concerned about the monetary loss with the trenchcoat as he was with the loss of trust finding out a friend had gone behind his back to make a quick buck off of something that belonged to him. I don't care how well-off a person is...if I discovered one of my friends had intentionally made money off of me behind my back, it would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Databank, where'd you find the interview on Google? I'm searching but still can't locate it. [Edited 12/23/15 1:52am]

If you notice when Eric showed up, it was during the Purple Rain tour. And I was the only soloist in the band if [Matt] Fink wasn’t soloing. And he had his solos that were planned out. He didn’t improvise. There’s the channel and then there’s the practiced, technical way that somebody plays. And Fink, he’s incredible at that: something he’s practiced.

I guess you are right. ` As for pulling the interview, looks like he went back to his own advice and decided to stay mum retroactively.
And judging by the reactions around here, it really does look like he will always be doubted anyway. Damned if you do/don't.
Shame because it was a rare glimpse.

would be hilarious if Prince read this interview and decided 2 pull it...

- I shouldn’t have read this interview. After the total disappointment of Phase Two, my enthusiasm for Prince’s music is nearly completely obliterated by all of the hyper religious mumbo jumbo, especially this passage: - “I check people out now to see how faith-based they are and how real they are about it. That goes a long way, I gotta tell you. Because I can trust them. I can give him the key and don’t have to worry.” - First, if he really believes that then he’s a fool. Second, perhaps I should see how "non faith-based" an artist is before I invest so much time and money into their music. And third, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.....someone should really get Prince in touch with Neil deGrasse Tyson....STAT!!!! - I bet this interview was covertly recorded because it appears as if it was quoted verbatim. Even with taking notes I don’t think it would be possible to get this level of detail. That might be why it was yanked.....Prince knows it was recorded and that violated the terms of the interview. - Hi-yo Silver, it's The Bone Ranger!

. Oh please, go look up the facts: WBR wanted to do a greatest hits for years and Prince had been getting in the way over and over again. They finally paid him several millions to get the fuck out of the way so they could get it done. . Of course, the set sold disappointingly because Prince did no serious promo. It's baffling how such a fantastic set -- three CDs for the price of two and one of those CDs being a collection of B-Sides most of which were vinyl only, fantastic liner notes, at least one stunning previously unreleased track -- sold so little, whereas other artists have collections that are million sellers. © Bart Van Hemelen

. On my HD because while I was reading it I thought "Prince is gonna throw the biggest hissy-fit you've ever seen". I mean, dude rings W&L if they dare say the most innocuous things, and here is Prince being quoted saying some outlandish accusations. © Bart Van Hemelen

It's not about a coat. He was talking about people feeling like they can just take from him. Prince works as hard as anyone else around him. Time and time again...people take from him. The value of what they take is if no matter...its that they do it, despite what he feels is his generosity. Ya Mama ever trip on someone staking some Tupperware w/o asking...and even the food from the BBQ that they snuck in the Tupperware they sheisted? It's not the value of the Tupperware or the food in it, its despitenya Mama's generosity of even having a BBQ that she don't charge for by the head, people take. I smoke weed...and despite me being more than willing to give someone a head change, some will insist on snaking weed, when I'd be more than willing to kick em down some. I'll get more weed...there's ALWAYS more weed....its that they feel entitled to take it. There will ALWAYS b more coats...the wardrobe dept AND Prince are well aware of that. P sounds like an asshole....I get that....but he is obscenely generous with his time, talent, money, opportunities... But yet people take. I get his frustration. But I seriously doubt he wakes up every morning, sits on the pot, and laments about niggas taking his coats while he sings adore to himself. This was an interview...a conversation... A moment in time. If someone took a picture of u taking a shit, it don't mean that all u do all day is sit and shit. [Edited 12/23/15 4:35am]

. There's really nothing in this interview that's unexpected. The only surprising thing is that Prince said all this in front of a journalist and it got written up and published -- and that it showed that Prince is way bigger a douche than I suspected. © Bart Van Hemelen

It's that dude obviously taped it. No one can remember all that shit verbatim....not even rainman. That prolly pissed him of more that what he said.
