Get outta here! R Kelly's recent slow jams ain't much to rap about either. They're PLASTIC, like a lot of some of Prince's ballads were too in the late 90s. Kelly's trying too hard to make "fuck songs" (as you put it), in my opinion. Prince ain't really going that route anymore, unfortunately. Most of his slow shit is either a "you hurt me" type song or his own psycho babble. He's just not trying to do stuff like that anymore. I'm sure he's figured he's done enough of those in his career to put anything Kelly's putting out to shame.

Don't get me wrong...I like some of Kelly's clasic slower stuff like Bump N Grind (Remix), Your Body's Calling, 12 Play, Down Low (remix), and another song or two, but they don't really compare to Prince's classic shit, and Kelly learned it all from him, anyway! C'mon!!

MASTERs at slow jams...check the albums out my brother.

r.kelly basic style is based on ronnie I's .that's the truth. so he ain't original. and he ain't in prince's league

Trip out humour aside this is an interesting thread. Prince is my favourite artist of all time so his songs, (slow jams and all) tend to become favourites of mine regardless. I'm talking since "I Hate You" on this... "Friend Lover Sister Mother Wife", "U Make My Sunshine", "Man O War" etc.

That said I do believe that like "TheChronic" says, artists like R will win the public's popular vote and it's by no accident he's a top seller. While hardcore Prince fans still enjoy the output to this day, the general person street level is prefering the sound and vibe of an R. Kelly...
