Yes, yes, yes to everything here. I love it. A veritable niagara of cascading vocal harmonies and sex on wax mixed with sincere deep love lyrics.

.

Part of the reason I call myself Adorecream.

Is the second of your username a reference to Cream from D&P?

Yes, mostly as it was the song that got me into Prince. I know it is not his greatest, but it is still fairly good and is very catchy. It was the video, suggestive dancing and those naughty guitar lines that did it for me. Plus they are dancing a mock orgy at the end and it looks like Prince is suggesting his guitar is some sort of penis near the end of the second verse eek

.

Fruit to attract bears by.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

"Captain of Her Heart"by Double, is a more timeless ballad of the '80's. That is cool perfection. "Adore" is not even everyone's cup of tea amongst Prince fans. There is a lot of genius touches sprinkled on it tho.

No single entertainment form is everyone's cup of tea. (I'd wager that's the case for an old pop track from 1987 too) Merry Christmas smile

Adore is great, but prefer Crucial as his best ballad of the 80s.

If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

just listening to this track and after 25 years i still cant get into it... The chorus is nice and has some nice nice spots here and there, but rest is meh fells kind of annoying....never liked his vocals on it, everything sounds so pitched, and the trumpet..no not his best.

And best ballad of the 80s ... never.

"Adore" gets the most love out of any ballad prince has EVER recorded. It has become an anthem. It even slays "Nothing Compares 2 U".
eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
