This is the Prince I wait for. When it drives, it takes me with it. The beginning sort of sets up an anticipation that there may be a boom, then it is delivered: well. So much going on, but it all tastes good. Those drums rolling like thunderous declarations of swaying hips in the background is an invitation to a rolling base which slips and slides under those horns with licks of funky delight.
Well done. We are all so full of here |

I wish I had never heard this song before it was released as part of an album - it's a great track, but having listened to it probably hundreds of times in the last few years (I like it that much) has undermined the impact of the album itself. Same applies to Xtraloveable (the original is still the best, but this versión kicks ass too).
I feel similarly. It BEEN a fave of mine. This jem was dropped outta nowhere. I've abused it. Black muse was a stand out what the album hit for me, but only cuz I had abused this so. However long into the release...this is now defiantly my fave on the record. Amazing track. The lyrics aren't groundbreaking at all....but the music is SO dynamic. Up and down and in and out...the pent up ohhs in the vox...the fx's...the basswork is awesome without being audacious.... Prince in all the ways that makes Prince, Prince. [Edited 12/22/15 17:58pm]
