STICKY LIKE GLUE For all the old fams who always complain about how they want the 80's sounding PRINCE, over and over again on every album he releases...
STICKY LIKE GLUE is the ONLY SONG in the last 10 years that sounds like it could fit in his 80's catalouge.
Without the rap, this is hands down imo of course, the best PRINCE song of the last 10 years.

Why all the fuss about the rap part, its not that bad

I don't think anybody wants Prince to sound like he did in the 1980s in 2015, it's just that those albums made such a big impression that it's very hard to live up to that. Having said that, I like Sticky Like Glue. But I didn't get 20Ten until this year or last year. I used to want to hear everything Prince recorded, but those days are over. Now it's like, a new album... okay... I'll listen to it... eventually... No hurry...

Personally I think Act of God and Laydown are better than Sticky Like Glue.

You're right, the rap's not that bad. The problem is that the rest of the song isn't that good, so when you take a less than average rap and a barely above average main song, you wind up with an averaged-out exactly average track.

This and "Future Soul Song" are excellent! "Beginning Endlessly" is pretty good, too. "Laydown" kicks ass and foreshadows the masterful badassery of AOA and Phase One. But the track that sounds the most 80s to me is "Everybody Loves Me." Except for the "woop de woop" part, this sounds like pure, goofy 80s fun. Hi-yo Silver, it's The Bone Ranger!

Lavaux is my jam, and lyrics apart it does sound like it was an outtake from 1999! A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

^ 20Ten Deluxe was supposed to contain an extended cut of Lavaux that "never ends", I hope P releases this one day, I'd go crazy over a 10 or 15 minutes cut of that song A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

The rehearsal jam version of Sticky is a stone groove. "Whoa-whoa / sticky like glue" "I like to watch."
