Is Prince Presenting At Award Shows Becoming Tiresome Come top of the year, Prince will make his annual appearances at award shows as a presenter and odds are he will probably present "Album Of The Year" award at the Grammys as well. It's time for Prince to knuckle down and record an album that can have a shelf life that will allow his work to bee nominated for an award rather than hand them out. Not a big Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie fan but these guys are as far removed from the mainstream as veteran artists can get and let the music talk with product that appeals to their fans in accessible ways. I see Prince on their level and hopefully in 2016 he'll make an album that is the best he can give of himself regardless of whether it's electronic dance music or bluegrass-just don't half-ass the product by not promoting it with a tour and presentation. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

At this point in time I'd say everything Prince has become tiresome. He is currently at his lowest level of popularity since he began. It's not going to change. He's not going to open up the vaults anytime soon. The best we can hope for is a strong new album. He needs one to get his cool back on. HitNRun was an experiment. Though I don't care for most of the album I applaud his effort at doing something different.

Prince has never been an artist who makes me music in a particular genre and because of it, his most groundbreaking albums have songs that belong to multiple genres. I would be happy if he made an electronic music dance based album and did it using his own ingenuity to make a great album in that vein. But the music will bring him bac to prominence and not Twitter and Princestagram. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I doubt he will present an award at the Grammys.

This is absolute nonsense.
Arguably his lowest level of popularity (whatever that means) would have been when he went completely off the radar following "Rave" and started making experimental albums like NEWS and internet only releases like C-Note, Slaughterhouse, etc. |

And even then (in 2002) he filled the Ahoy hall in Rotterdam twice, which also adds up to 20,000 people. And I'm pretty sure he did that in other countries as well. He's a legacy act. Nothing new here. Or are we looking at the "Prince is over" thread of the week? [Edited 12/7/15 13:23pm]
